Agoda and China Airlines have unveiled StayMiles, a dedicated hotel booking platform designed to deepen loyalty engagement for the carrier's Dynasty Flyer members. The platform, powered by Rocket Travel by Agoda, integrates hotel reservations with flight services, allowing members to earn and redeem miles across a global inventory of more than 600,000 properties.

StayMiles is positioned as a strategic move to extend the airline's loyalty ecosystem beyond air travel, tapping into the growing demand for integrated travel rewards. Members can earn up to 10,000 miles per night on eligible local stays and weekend getaways, a significant incentive for frequent flyers who previously had limited earning opportunities outside of flights.

Expanding loyalty beyond the cabin

The platform features an intuitive slider that enables members to redeem hotel stays starting from just 1,000 miles, offering flexibility that is often lacking in traditional airline loyalty programs. This low redemption threshold is designed to encourage engagement among members who may not have accumulated large mile balances.

Damien Pfirsch, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Rocket Travel by Agoda, highlighted the significance of the partnership: “This partnership with China Airlines marks an exciting milestone especially as travel loyalty evolves into more integrated and rewarding experiences. We're appreciative of the trust in our ability to deliver robust, value-driven platforms.”

The collaboration covers key global markets, including Taiwan, North and Southeast Asia, North America, Canada, and Europe. This broad geographic reach ensures that Dynasty Flyer members can leverage their miles across a wide array of destinations, from regional business hubs to leisure hotspots.

For travel professionals, the launch underscores a broader industry trend: airlines are increasingly looking to non-air partners to enhance loyalty program value. By integrating hotel bookings directly into the member experience, China Airlines aims to increase customer retention and average spend per member, a critical metric in a competitive aviation landscape.

The move also reflects the growing importance of travel technology in loyalty management. Rocket Travel by Agoda, a subsidiary of Booking Holdings, brings its expertise in hotel distribution and rewards optimization to the table, enabling a seamless booking experience that aligns with the airline's digital strategy.

Industry observers note that such partnerships are becoming essential as carriers face pressure from both low-cost competitors and online travel agencies. By offering a robust hotel rewards platform, China Airlines is not only enhancing its value proposition but also creating new revenue streams through commission-based hotel bookings.

For agents and travel advisors, StayMiles presents an opportunity to offer clients additional value when booking China Airlines flights and hotels. The platform's integration with the airline's loyalty program simplifies the process of earning and redeeming miles, potentially increasing client satisfaction and repeat business.

As the travel industry continues to recover and evolve, loyalty programs are being reimagined to deliver more holistic experiences. The Agoda-China Airlines partnership is a clear example of how airlines are leveraging technology to create seamless, rewarding journeys that extend beyond the flight itself.

With the platform now live, Dynasty Flyer members can begin exploring the extensive hotel inventory and start earning miles on their next stay. The initiative is expected to drive higher engagement and set a benchmark for similar collaborations in the Asia-Pacific region.
