Uzbekistan's largest private carrier, Centrum Air, is set to expand its Indian footprint with a new nonstop service linking Hyderabad and Tashkent. Flights will commence on 28 September 2026, operating twice weekly with an Airbus A320neo, according to an airline statement.

The route becomes Centrum Air's second Indian gateway, following its existing Delhi–Tashkent operations. The carrier sees Hyderabad as a high-potential market for tourism, student travel, visiting friends and relatives (VFR), and onward connections to Central Asia, the CIS, the Middle East, and Europe.

Strategic partnership with Aeroprime Group

The launch is a key milestone in Centrum Air's collaboration with Aeroprime Group, which has been instrumental in establishing the airline's presence in India. Aeroprime has provided market assessment, route development support, and travel-trade engagement, helping to build a solid distribution ecosystem.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, Founder and CEO of Centrum Air, said: "Hyderabad offers strong potential for tourism, student, VFR, and onward international travel, and we look forward to connecting our passengers with this vibrant city as we continue to grow our presence in India."

Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director and CEO of Aeroprime Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the Hyderabad market: "Our role has been to bring Centrum Air closer to the Indian travel trade, establish the right distribution ecosystem, and create visibility and demand for the airline."

Schedule and distribution

The service will operate on Mondays and Thursdays from Tashkent to Hyderabad, and on Tuesdays and Fridays from Hyderabad to Tashkent. Tickets will be available through Centrum Air's own channels and via travel-trade distribution systems, including Amadeus and Glid.

Centrum Air's expansion into Hyderabad comes as Central Asian carriers increasingly target Indian secondary cities, which offer strong diaspora connections and growing business ties. The airline's A320neo configuration provides a fuel-efficient option for the roughly four-hour sector.

For travel agents and tour operators, the new route opens up packaged itineraries combining Uzbekistan's Silk Road heritage sites with onward links to Moscow, Almaty, and other CIS points. The timing also aligns with the upcoming autumn travel season, when Indian outbound demand typically rises.

Centrum Air's move mirrors broader trends in the region, where carriers are diversifying their Indian networks beyond the major metros. As United Airlines expands its international route map, and other carriers adjust to shifting demand patterns, secondary Indian cities are becoming increasingly attractive for long-haul and regional services.

The airline's focus on Hyderabad also reflects the city's emergence as a major tech and pharmaceutical hub, with a growing number of business travellers seeking direct connectivity to Central Asia. The route is expected to cater to both leisure and corporate segments.

Industry observers note that the success of such routes often depends on effective distribution and trade partnerships. Aeroprime's role in engaging the Indian travel trade will be critical in driving load factors and establishing Centrum Air as a preferred carrier for Uzbekistan-bound passengers.

As the launch date approaches, the airline is expected to announce additional trade incentives and promotional fares to stimulate early bookings. The Hyderabad–Tashkent service is part of Centrum Air's broader strategy to build a robust network linking India with Uzbekistan and beyond.
