FCM Travel, the corporate travel division of Flight Centre Travel Group, has named Vicki Parris as its new Managing Director for Asia, effective immediately. The appointment comes as corporate travel demand surges across key Asian markets, from Japan to Southeast Asia, driven by a rebound in business travel and MICE activity.
Parris brings nearly two decades of industry experience to the role. She joined Flight Centre Travel Group in 2004 and has held leadership positions in New Zealand, India, and across Asia. Since joining FCM Travel Asia in 2016, she most recently served as Managing Director for FCM Japan and South East Asia. Her tenure has earned her recognition as a GBTA WINiT Top 40 Global Women in Travel honouree and an induction into the Flight Centre Travel Group Hall of Fame.
Strategic Focus on Asia's Diverse Markets
In her new capacity, Parris will oversee FCM's operations across Asia, guiding the company's strategic direction as corporate travel demand in the region continues to rise. The region's diversity—from mature markets like Japan and Singapore to rapidly growing ones such as India and Vietnam—presents both opportunities and complexities for travel management companies.
Melissa Elf, Global Managing Director of FCM, praised Parris's appointment, stating, "Vicki is exactly the kind of leader FCM needs at the helm in Asia. Her track record of building strong, customer-focused operational teams across some of our most dynamic markets speaks for itself."
Parris expressed enthusiasm for the role, saying, "I am thrilled to be stepping into this role at such an exciting time for FCM in Asia. The region is incredibly diverse and fast-moving, and I look forward to working with our teams on the ground to deliver the best possible travel programme experience for our clients."
FCM's expansion in Asia aligns with broader trends in the corporate travel sector, where companies are increasingly seeking integrated travel management solutions. The appointment also underscores the importance of regional expertise in navigating local regulations, supplier relationships, and cultural nuances. For travel professionals—whether airline executives, hoteliers, or tour operators—Parris's leadership signals FCM's commitment to deepening its presence in Asia, a region that continues to drive global travel growth.
As FCM continues to expand its footprint, Parris's leadership is expected to play a crucial role in capitalising on growth opportunities. The company's focus on technology-driven travel programmes and personalised service will be key differentiators in a competitive landscape that includes global players like American Express Global Business Travel and BCD Travel.
For travel agents and corporate travel managers, Parris's appointment reinforces the importance of having a dedicated regional leader who understands the nuances of Asian markets. With business travel rebounding and MICE events returning, FCM is well-positioned to support clients in navigating this dynamic environment.
