Parc Astérix, the French theme park north of Paris, has confirmed plans to open a fourth on-site hotel, L'Odyssée Hôtel, in spring 2027. The property will add 300 themed rooms, including suites inspired by ancient Persia and Egypt, to the park's existing accommodation portfolio.
The new hotel joins Les Quais de Lutèce, La Cité Suspendue, and Les Trois Hiboux, giving Parc Astérix a combined room inventory that will appeal to both leisure and business travel segments. L'Odyssée Hôtel will feature two restaurants, a bar, and a flexible seminar space designed for corporate events and MICE groups.
Sustainability at the core
L'Odyssée Hôtel has achieved an 'Excellent' rating under France's High Environmental Quality (HQE) certification, underscoring the park's commitment to sustainable construction and operations. This aligns with broader industry trends where sustainable hotel portfolios are becoming a key differentiator for travelers and event planners.
Delphine Pons, Managing Director of Parc Astérix, said: "With L'Odyssée Hôtel, we are taking a major step forward in the hotel development of Parc Astérix. This hotel offers total immersion, unparalleled comfort, and a unique experience."
The investment is part of a €250 million capital programme running through 2030, aimed at enhancing visitor experiences and strengthening the park's position against competitors such as Disneyland Paris and Futuroscope. The expansion reflects a broader trend in the European leisure sector, where theme parks are increasingly investing in accommodation to extend dwell time and boost ancillary revenue.
To support the launch, Parc Astérix is recruiting nearly 200 employees, with a dedicated recruitment day scheduled for 10 December 2026. The hiring drive will cover roles in hospitality, food and beverage, and guest services, ensuring the hotel is fully staffed from day one.
The new property is expected to appeal to international tour operators and travel agents looking for themed accommodation options in the Île-de-France region. With its proximity to Paris and direct access via the A1 motorway and RER B, Parc Astérix is well positioned to capture both domestic and inbound leisure traffic.
Industry observers note that the move mirrors similar strategies by other European parks, such as Europa-Park and Efteling, which have expanded their hotel offerings to create complete resort experiences. For travel professionals, the addition of L'Odyssée Hôtel provides a new product to package with park tickets and regional tours.
Parc Astérix, operated by Compagnie des Alpes, has seen steady growth in recent years, and the hotel investment is expected to support further increases in attendance and length of stay. The park's existing hotels have consistently high occupancy during peak seasons, and the new capacity will help meet demand.
As the travel industry continues to recover, investments in themed accommodation are proving resilient. The universal design principles being applied in some luxury hotels are also influencing family-oriented resorts, though Parc Astérix's approach remains firmly rooted in immersive theming.
With the opening set for spring 2027, travel agents and tour operators should start planning packages that include the new hotel. Early bookings are expected to be strong, given the park's loyal fan base and the novelty of the ancient civilizations theme.
