Royal Caribbean has emerged as a dominant force in the 2026 travel awards season, collecting a series of honors that underscore its leadership in family cruising, loyalty programs, and innovative ship design. The line’s wins span brand-level recognition, individual ship accolades, and praise for its private destination experiences, reflecting nearly six decades of investment in record-breaking vessels and curated shoreside offerings.

Brand-Level Wins: Family, Loyalty, and Mainstream Excellence

In The Points Guy’s 2026 awards, Royal Caribbean was named both “Best Cruise Line for Families” and “Best Cruise Line Loyalty Program.” The publication highlighted Star of the Seas for its waterparks, mini-golf, laser tag, and multi-generational spaces such as the Surfside neighborhood, alongside adults-only venues like The Hideaway. This dual recognition reinforces the line’s appeal to both families and repeat cruisers in the Crown & Anchor Society.

Newsweek’s 2026 Reader’s Choice Awards saw Royal Caribbean claim the top four spots for “Best Cruise Ships for Families,” with Star of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, and Anthem of the Seas ranked first through fourth. Mariner of the Seas placed seventh overall. In the UK, the line won “Best Mainstream Ocean Cruise Company” at the Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards for the 19th consecutive year.

Southern Living’s 2026 South’s Best awards placed Royal Caribbean at No. 1 for “Best Cruise Line,” based on a survey of more than 17,000 travel enthusiasts who praised its blend of thrills, relaxation, and diverse itineraries.

Global Recognition: Europe and Asia

Royal Caribbean’s 2026 awards also extend across Europe and Asia. At the Cruise Excellence Awards, the brand won three titles: “Best Ship in the Mediterranean” for Allure of the Seas, plus awards for Best Entertainment and Best Brand Recognition by Travel Agencies. In China, it secured the TTG China Travel Award for “Best Cruise Operator in China,” recognizing Spectrum of the Seas’ 2- to 11-night sailings from Shanghai and Hong Kong to destinations like Osaka, Tokyo, and Seoul. The line has already announced more immersive East Asia journeys for 2027.

These honors highlight Royal Caribbean’s reach across the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and beyond, appealing to both first-time cruisers and loyal Crown & Anchor members.

Star of the Seas: Breakout Ship of 2026

Among individual ships, Star of the Seas—an Icon-class vessel—has emerged as a standout. It was named “The Best Cruise Overall” in the inaugural PureWow Travel Awards, praised for its spacious Infinite Balcony staterooms, seven pools spread over multiple decks, and big-ticket entertainment including “Back to the Future: The Musical” in the Royal Theater and high-dive shows at the AquaTheater. The ship also earned a spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Hot List of the best new cruises in the world, marking its third major travel award since debuting in August 2025.

Private Destination Recognition: Royal Beach Club Paradise Island

Royal Caribbean’s shoreside innovation is also being recognized. Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau, The Bahamas, was featured in the 2026 Women’s Health Travel Awards among top “reset-worthy cruises,” spotlighting its balance of high-energy fun and restorative spaces. Guests can experience the “Ultimate Beach Day” in Nassau with party vibes at the world’s largest swim-up bar in Party Cove, or opt for laid-back relaxation along Paradise Beach, showing how the brand’s private destinations now extend the onboard experience onto carefully curated shores.

For travel professionals, these awards underscore Royal Caribbean’s continued investment in product differentiation and guest loyalty, which are critical in a competitive cruise market. The line’s ability to win across multiple categories—from family travel to loyalty programs to destination experiences—positions it strongly for 2027 and beyond.
