The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has confirmed a partnership with London-based Private Luxury Events to stage Ultra Thailand 2027, the invitation-only luxury travel gathering, from 20–24 June 2027 at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. The event marks Ultra's first foray into Southeast Asia and is designed to plug Thailand's tourism industry into a global network of buyers serving ultra-high-net-worth travellers.
Ultra is known for its exclusive, curated format: attendees are selected based on the depth of their client portfolios, and they represent family offices, executive and personal assistants, and celebrity agents who design bespoke journeys for the world's most discerning travellers. Since its launch, Ultra has sold out every edition, with community members including AMAN, Orient Express, Windows to Japan, The Datai, Domaine Louise and Tangile Malamala Collection.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said: “Ultra Thailand 2027 places Thailand into one of the world’s most influential ultra-luxury travel networks. TAT will use this platform to present a distinctive expression of Thai luxury built on personalised service, cultural depth and genuine human connection, spanning world-class wellness and gastronomy, private journeys, arts, living heritage and locally rooted experiences. The event will also create valuable business opportunities for Thai tourism partners while reinforcing Thailand’s position as a high-value and sustainable tourism destination.”
The timing aligns with Bangkok's rising status in the global wealth landscape. Knight Frank projects Thailand's ultra-high-net-worth population will grow by 26% between 2026 and 2031, while Bangkok's own UHNW segment is expected to expand by more than 50% by 2030. That momentum is drawing continued investment from international hospitality brands, including Aman Nai Lert Bangkok and The Langham's restoration of the historic Custom House on the Chao Phraya River. These developments support TAT's focus on quality-led tourism and its “Healing is the New Luxury” communication direction, which emphasises wellbeing, personalisation and meaningful travel.
Connecting Thai tourism to global luxury buyers
For Thai tourism operators, Ultra Thailand 2027 offers a direct channel to a specialised global buyer network. TAT will use the event to introduce Thai businesses—from boutique hotels and wellness retreats to private yacht charters and cultural experiences—to buyers who design high-end itineraries for clients across the world. The goal is to expand opportunities in the high-value travel market and strengthen awareness of Thailand's luxury offering beyond the traditional beach-and-temple circuit.
Thailand's luxury proposition is further distinguished by nam jai, the Thai spirit of generosity, warmth and welcome. Combined with the country's wellness, gastronomy, arts, culture and private travel experiences, this gives Ultra's international community access to a broader expression of luxury rooted in Thai identity and human connection.
Christy Kuplic, Managing Director of Private Luxury Events, said: “Bangkok is entering an exciting period of growth at the very top end of luxury travel. The expansion of private wealth, continued investment from leading global hospitality brands and Thailand’s focus on high-value tourism make this an incredibly timely moment for Ultra to come to the destination. Ultra has always been about bringing our community into the places shaping conversations in luxury travel. Bangkok has real momentum, and we are excited to experience that first-hand with our community and the Tourism Authority of Thailand in 2027.”
The event also comes as Bangkok enhances its travel infrastructure, including the recent expansion of automated immigration gates at Suvarnabhumi Airport to more nationalities, which should ease access for high-end visitors. Meanwhile, Thailand's broader tourism strategy is increasingly focused on sustainable, high-yield segments, a shift that aligns with the challenges of balancing arrival numbers with regenerative goals seen across the region.
For travel professionals, Ultra Thailand 2027 represents a rare opportunity to engage with a vetted community of luxury buyers. The event's invitation-only nature ensures that participants are serious players in the ultra-luxury space, making it a valuable platform for Thai hotels, DMCs and experience providers to build long-term relationships. As Bangkok's luxury hotel pipeline expands—with properties like Aman Nai Lert Bangkok and the Langham's Custom House restoration—the city is positioning itself as a hub for high-end travel in Asia.
With the event still two years out, TAT and Private Luxury Events are expected to release further details on the programme and participant selection in the coming months. For now, the announcement signals Thailand's intent to compete at the very top of the luxury travel market, leveraging its cultural assets and hospitality strengths to attract the world's most affluent travellers.
