Apaleo, the API-first property management platform built for modern hospitality, has named Connor Neeson as its Country Lead for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The appointment signals a deeper push into two markets where hoteliers are increasingly under pressure to replace legacy systems with more flexible, data-driven technology stacks.

Neeson brings more than 15 years of experience in hospitality technology, having held senior roles at Triptease, Cloudbeds, and CheKin. His background centers on helping hotel operators navigate digital transformation, particularly when moving away from rigid, on-premise property management systems that struggle to integrate with modern revenue management, distribution, and guest engagement tools.

"I'm excited to join Apaleo at a time when hospitality businesses are under real pressure to modernise and become more adaptable," Neeson said. "The UK and Ireland markets are ripe for change, and Apaleo's open platform gives operators the freedom to build the tech stack they actually need."

Why the UK and Ireland Matter for Apaleo

The UK and Ireland represent a significant opportunity for Apaleo, which already supports more than 2,200 properties across 30 countries. Notable clients include easyHotel and citizenM, both of which rely on Apaleo's modular architecture to manage diverse property types without costly reconfiguration. The company's self-service platform is backed by hands-on support, a model designed to appeal to both independent hotels and larger groups seeking to standardize their tech infrastructure.

Operational challenges in the region—ranging from persistent staffing shortages to rising energy and labor costs—are pushing hoteliers to seek technology that can automate routine tasks and deliver real-time insights. Many properties still run on legacy PMS platforms that were not built for the multi-channel, data-rich environment of today's hospitality industry. Apaleo's API-first approach allows for seamless integration with a wide ecosystem of third-party tools, from channel managers and booking engines to revenue management systems and guest messaging platforms.

Florian Montag, Senior Vice President of Revenue at Apaleo, commented: "Connor brings a strong understanding of hospitality technology and the challenges operators face as they modernise their tech stacks. His experience working with hoteliers across different segments makes him the right person to lead our growth in the UK and Ireland."

The appointment comes as the broader European travel industry shows resilience despite geopolitical headwinds. According to recent data, European tourism arrivals grew 5% in the first half of 2026, with the UK and Ireland remaining key source markets and destinations. This growth is driving demand for technology that can help hotels optimize revenue and operational efficiency.

Neeson's mandate includes expanding Apaleo's partner network in the region and helping businesses transition from legacy systems to more adaptable, cloud-native solutions. The company's open platform is designed to support a wide range of hospitality concepts—from boutique hotels and serviced apartments to large-scale hotel groups—without requiring a complete overhaul of existing workflows.

For travel professionals attending industry events such as the PATA UK & Ireland training roadshow, the conversation around modernizing property management technology is becoming increasingly central. Apaleo's expansion in the region aligns with a broader shift toward open, interoperable systems that allow hoteliers to choose best-in-class solutions rather than being locked into monolithic platforms.

With Neeson at the helm, Apaleo is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the UK and Ireland hospitality tech market, where the demand for flexible, API-driven property management is expected to accelerate as operators seek to future-proof their businesses.
