BWH Hotels continued its strong run of industry recognition this year, collecting two awards at the Lifestyle + Travel Awards 2024. The ceremony, held in Bangkok on October 25, saw Best Western Hotels & Resorts named Mid-Range Hotels Brand and WorldHotels awarded Influential Asia Pacific Hotel Collection.

The midscale segment remains a critical battleground for hotel groups across Asia Pacific, and Best Western’s win underscores the brand’s enduring appeal among both business and leisure travelers. With more than 130 properties currently operating in the region and a robust pipeline of new openings, the brand continues to expand its footprint under a portfolio of innovative sub-brands.

Midscale Momentum

Rodney Simpson, managing director for operations in APAC at BWH Hotels, accepted the Mid-Range Hotels Brand award on stage. He noted that Best Western has been delighting guests for over 75 years, combining comfort, convenience, and connectivity — a formula that remains relevant in today’s travel landscape. The brand’s growth trajectory in Asia Pacific reflects strong demand from both hotel owners and travelers seeking reliable, value-driven accommodations.

For travel agents and tour operators, Best Western’s extensive network offers a dependable option for clients looking for consistent quality across multiple destinations. The brand’s loyalty program and corporate booking tools also make it a preferred choice for business travel managers.

WorldHotels’ Regional Influence

WorldHotels, BWH Hotels’ upscale and luxury collection, received the Influential Asia Pacific Hotel Collection award. Olivier Berrivin, vice-president for APAC at BWH Hotels, accepted the honor. WorldHotels encompasses four distinct collections — WorldHotels Luxury, WorldHotels Elite, WorldHotels Crafted, and WorldHotels Distinctive — each catering to different traveler preferences while maintaining a focus on authenticity and individuality.

“We are overjoyed to have won these two accolades in the Lifestyle + Travel Awards 2024,” Berrivin said. “Best Western Hotels & Resorts continues to drive the midscale sector forward with its timeless combination of comfort, convenience and complete connectivity, while WorldHotels elevates every stay with its seamless blend of luxury, authenticity and individuality. I would like to thank Lifestyle + Travel magazine for these awards, and our entire team for their tireless commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.”

The recognition comes at a time when the hospitality industry is seeing a resurgence in travel demand across Asia Pacific, with hotel groups competing to differentiate their offerings. WorldHotels’ curated portfolio of unique properties positions it well for discerning travelers seeking experiences beyond standardized luxury.

For hoteliers and developers, the awards highlight the strength of BWH Hotels’ dual-brand strategy — maintaining a strong midscale presence while also competing in the upscale and luxury segments. This approach allows the group to cater to a wide range of guest profiles and booking channels, from direct reservations to GDS systems used by travel agents.

The Lifestyle + Travel Awards are organized by Lifestyle + Travel magazine, a publication covering travel, hospitality, and lifestyle trends. The 2024 edition drew industry leaders from across the region, with categories spanning hotels, airlines, cruise lines, and destinations.

BWH Hotels’ latest accolades add to a growing list of industry honors this year, reinforcing the group’s position as a key player in the Asia Pacific hospitality market. As travel continues to rebound, the company’s focus on both scale and distinctiveness appears to be resonating with both guests and industry peers.
