Conrad Hong Kong has appointed Conor Hadlington as its new general manager, effective 28 September 2026. Hadlington brings nearly two decades of luxury hospitality experience to the 513-room property, which sits within the Pacific Place complex in Admiralty.
Hadlington, a UK native, has built his career across Asia, the United States and the Middle East, holding leadership roles with Mandarin Oriental, InterContinental and Shangri-La. His background in food and beverage operations has shaped a management style that prioritises guest experience and operational precision.
Commercial strategy and brand execution
In his new role, Hadlington will oversee all hotel operations, commercial strategy and brand execution for the Conrad Hong Kong. The property is a flagship for the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand, which operates 51 hotels across five continents as part of Hilton's luxury portfolio.
"His broad international perspective, coupled with a strong understanding of the regional landscape, brings valuable insight as Conrad Hong Kong continues to elevate its luxury offerings for today's discerning travellers," the hotel said in a statement.
Hadlington's appointment comes at a time when Hong Kong's luxury hotel market is rebounding, with occupancy and average daily rates climbing as international travel recovers. The city's position as a gateway to Greater China and its growing MICE sector make the general manager role particularly strategic.
Industry observers note that Hadlington's experience in revenue management and team development will be critical as the hotel competes with other luxury properties in the Admiralty and Central districts, including the Four Seasons, The Peninsula and the Ritz-Carlton.
Hadlington's career began in F&B, a foundation he says continues to influence his approach. "Understanding the nuances of service delivery from the ground up is essential in luxury hospitality," he said. "It informs how I lead teams and how we craft guest journeys."
The appointment follows a series of leadership changes across Hilton's Asia-Pacific portfolio, as the group positions itself for continued growth in the region. Hilton has been expanding its luxury footprint, with new Conrad properties planned in key destinations.
For travel professionals, the change at Conrad Hong Kong signals a continued focus on elevating the guest experience and strengthening loyalty programmes. The hotel's location in Pacific Place, connected to upscale retail and office towers, makes it a key player in the corporate and leisure segments.
Hadlington's international background is expected to resonate with the hotel's diverse clientele, which includes business travellers from Europe, North America and the Middle East, as well as high-end leisure guests from mainland China and Southeast Asia.
As the global travel industry continues to recover, leadership appointments like this one are closely watched. The hotel staffing crisis has made experienced general managers even more valuable, and Hadlington's track record in team development will be an asset.
Conrad Hotels & Resorts is known for its bold design and immersive local experiences, and Hadlington will be tasked with ensuring the Hong Kong property maintains its reputation for innovation and service excellence.
