Marriott International has expanded its footprint in the Delhi National Capital Region with the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Ghaziabad, the brand's first property in the city. Located in the fast-developing Rajnagar Extension, the hotel brings 106 rooms and suites to a market that is increasingly important for both corporate and leisure travel.

The property is positioned to serve a mix of business travelers, wedding parties, and tourists, with direct access to key transport nodes including Indira Gandhi International Airport, Anand Vihar Bus Stand, and Ghaziabad Railway Station. Its location also places it within reach of Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Meerut, making it a strategic base for exploring the wider region.

Facilities and design

Courtyard by Marriott Ghaziabad offers a range of amenities tailored to modern travel needs. The hotel features an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge and bar, and approximately 8,000 square feet of banqueting space suitable for weddings, conferences, and social events. Wellness facilities include a fully equipped gym, an outdoor pool, and a spa.

Nearby attractions such as Akshardham Temple and the shopping districts of East Delhi add to the property's appeal for leisure guests, while its connectivity to business hubs supports the corporate segment.

Executive commentary

Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, underscored Ghaziabad's growing role in the region's economic landscape. "Delhi NCR continues to grow as one of India's most dynamic economic corridors, and Ghaziabad plays an increasingly important role in driving further business, infrastructure development, and domestic travel demand," he said.

Praveen Sharma, Hotel Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the launch. "We are delighted to introduce the Courtyard by Marriott experience to Ghaziabad and welcome guests to a hotel designed around the way people travel today," he added.

The hotel is part of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, allowing members to earn and redeem points during their stay, a key consideration for frequent travelers.

This opening follows Marriott's recent expansion moves in India, including the introduction of its Series brand in New Caledonia and the addition of serviced apartments at Hiranandani Sands Alibaug. The company continues to strengthen its presence across the subcontinent, with a focus on emerging urban centers.

For travel professionals, the Ghaziabad property represents an opportunity to tap into the growing demand in the eastern periphery of Delhi NCR, particularly for MICE and wedding business, as well as transient corporate travel.
