Crystal Cruises has detailed new family-oriented and outdoor amenities for its upcoming vessel, Crystal Grace, scheduled to enter service in 2028. The enhancements aim to broaden the ship's appeal across age groups while maintaining the line's luxury positioning.
On Deck 11, a dedicated youth area will include a shallow pool and recreational games, designed as a safe environment for families. The Waves Teen Centre, also on Deck 11, will be the largest teen space across Crystal's fleet, targeting guests aged 13 to 17 with an entertainment lounge, gaming zones, and a music and dance area. Meanwhile, the Fantasia Children's Playroom will offer refreshed creative activities for children aged 3 to 12, alongside supervised experiences and in-room babysitting services.
Bernie Leypold, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations for Crystal, stated: “Crystal Grace represents the future of exceptional luxury travel whilst honouring the elements our guests cherish most.”
Outdoor and Pool Upgrades
The ship will introduce the Seahorse Pool, the largest in Crystal's fleet, equipped with 140 loungers and a large LED screen for entertainment. Sixty private cabanas will provide exclusive retreats, and a new poolside bar will offer a stylish setting for cocktails and conversation.
Crystal Grace's inaugural voyage is set for 11 June 2028, sailing from Civitavecchia to Venice. This deployment underscores Crystal's continued investment in the Mediterranean market, a region where the line has historically maintained strong demand.
The announcement follows Crystal's recent recognition in the Travel + Leisure 2026 World's Best Awards, where it retained the top midsize cruise line title. For travel professionals, the new family amenities signal a strategic push to attract multigenerational travelers, a segment that has shown resilience in post-pandemic booking patterns. Agents and tour operators may find the expanded teen and children's facilities a key selling point for family groups seeking luxury experiences.

Industry observers note that Crystal Grace's family-focused additions align with broader cruise sector trends toward dedicated youth programming, as lines compete for younger demographics. The ship's design also reflects feedback from past guests, according to Leypold, who emphasized that the new spaces balance innovation with the brand's core luxury ethos.
With a capacity not yet disclosed, Crystal Grace will join the fleet alongside Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, both of which have undergone recent refurbishments. The line's parent company, A&K Travel Group, has signaled ambitions to expand Crystal's presence in both classic and emerging itineraries.
