Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has inked a management agreement for a 50-key Cozzet-branded property in Ringas, Rajasthan, strategically positioned to serve the surge in pilgrimage travel to Khatu Shyam. The move underscores the group's push to strengthen its premium economy footprint in high-demand religious and regional travel corridors.
The hotel, located roughly 18 kilometres from the Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, will cater to pilgrims, families, leisure travellers and transit guests. Its location, just 100 metres from Ringas railway station and with direct access to NH-52, ensures seamless connectivity for both rail and road traffic. The property is a brownfield development and is expected to welcome its first guests by mid-2027.
Facilities and design
The Cozzet Khatu Shyam will feature 50 contemporary rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a health club and a swimming pool. In addition, the hotel will include a 2,500 sq. ft. banquet venue capable of accommodating up to 200 guests, tapping into the region's social and events market.
According to Cygnett, the property is designed to meet the expectations of modern travellers seeking consistent, branded accommodation in emerging destinations. The company highlighted that pilgrimage sites like Khatu Shyam attract millions of visitors annually, creating a need for reliable hospitality infrastructure.
“Destinations receiving millions of visitors annually require not just additional room inventory, but dependable branded accommodation with consistent service standards,” said Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts.
Khatu Shyam, one of Rajasthan's most revered pilgrimage sites, drew approximately 2.54 crore devotees in 2025, according to official estimates. This visitor volume has spurred hotel development in the surrounding areas, with Ringas emerging as a key transit and stay point.
The Cozzet brand, Cygnett's flagship premium economy label, is expanding amid projections that India's micro and mid-scale hospitality market will reach $7.60 billion by 2031. Cygnett currently has a development pipeline of roughly 600 keys, with plans to roll out Cozzet properties across multiple strategic locations in India.
This signing follows a series of expansions across the Indian hospitality landscape, as operators increasingly target tier-II and tier-III cities with high travel demand. For travel professionals, the development signals growing opportunities in pilgrimage-driven tourism, a segment that has shown resilience and consistent growth.
Cygnett's focus on brownfield projects allows for faster turnaround times and lower capital expenditure, a model that appeals to property owners seeking to leverage the hospitality boom. The company's strategy aligns with broader industry trends, where branded management agreements are becoming the preferred route for asset owners in emerging markets.
As India's domestic travel continues to expand, destinations like Khatu Shyam are likely to attract further investment from hotel groups. The Cozzet Ringas property will compete with other mid-scale offerings in the area, but its proximity to the railway station and highway gives it a logistical edge.
For travel agents and tour operators, the new hotel provides an additional option for clients visiting the temple, particularly those seeking consistent quality and amenities. The property's banquet facilities also open opportunities for MICE and social events, a segment that is growing in smaller cities.
Cygnett's expansion comes at a time when several hospitality brands are vying for a share of India's religious tourism market. The company's ability to secure a location near one of the country's most visited temples underscores its strategic planning and execution capabilities.
With the hotel slated to open in 2027, Cygnett is positioning itself to capitalise on the continued growth of pilgrimage travel in Rajasthan. The group's pipeline of 600 keys across India suggests that more such signings are likely in the coming months.
