Global travel distribution platform Dida convened its Engage Hong Kong & Macau partner event at the M+ Museum on 20 March, bringing together general managers, sales and marketing directors, and senior commercial leaders from major hospitality groups across the region. The gathering marks a strategic push to deepen direct hotel partnerships and enhance supply connectivity in two of Asia-Pacific’s most critical gateways for China outbound travel.

Hong Kong and Macau remain uniquely positioned to capture demand from China, the world’s largest outbound source market, thanks to their proximity, accessibility, and strong appeal to Chinese travellers. Dida is accelerating efforts to build direct relationships with hotel groups in these markets, aiming to improve inventory quality and distribution efficiency. The event is part of a broader APAC initiative to strengthen regional supply connectivity and foster collaboration in high-growth markets.

Strategic Dialogue and Data-Driven Insights

The Engage conference series serves as a platform for strategic dialogue, market intelligence sharing, and collaboration. Discussions at the Hong Kong event focused on evolving travel demand patterns, the growing importance of real-time data in demand forecasting, and how closer collaboration between distribution platforms and hotel partners can unlock incremental growth. Dida’s approach is built around a data-driven supply flywheel, where demand insights, direct contracting, and intelligent distribution reinforce each other.

Dida Holdings chief executive Daryl Lee commented: “Hong Kong and Macau are strategically important destinations within our global network, particularly given their strong connectivity with China, our largest source market. As travel demand continues to evolve, we see significant opportunities to deepen collaboration with our partners here – not only to drive incremental demand, but to do so more intelligently through AI-powered insights that continuously optimise how supply is distributed and monetised.” Lee added that the company’s current focus is on building long-term, high-quality supply partnerships that create sustainable value for hotel partners and its own distribution ecosystem.

By continuously learning from real-time market signals, Dida’s platform dynamically optimises supply allocation, pricing accuracy, and conversion performance across its global network. This capability is increasingly vital as the landscape for Chinese outbound travel grows more complex. The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong’s general manager Anas Bencheqroun remarked: “Dida’s insights into evolving travel demand and market intelligence are highly relevant to our business. Platforms that can translate real-time data into AI-driven recommendations that directly improve pricing, visibility, and conversion will be critical in helping us capture market share and drive long-term success.”

Dida’s diversified global network and strong exposure to intra-Asia travel corridors have contributed to resilient demand performance, even amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. The company continues to expand its direct contracting footprint across key destinations, supported by its growing data capabilities and technology infrastructure. This event follows a recent seven-year AI distribution pact between Dida Holdings and HBX Group, further underscoring the company’s commitment to data-driven travel distribution. Dida plans to hold similar engagements across other key destinations, reinforcing its mission to build a more efficient, data-driven global travel distribution ecosystem. As the company deepens its APAC supply network, hotel partners in Hong Kong and Macau stand to benefit from enhanced visibility and smarter distribution strategies tailored to the region’s dynamic travel demand.
