Duetto, the San Francisco-based revenue management specialist, has been named Revenue Management System of the Year at the Travel Daily Media Travel Trade Excellence Awards 2026 – Thailand. The accolade, announced at a ceremony in Bangkok, recognises the company's push to move hotel revenue management beyond the traditional RevPAR metric and toward a more profit-driven operating model.
For a quarter-century, RevPAR has been the hotel industry's default yardstick for performance. But with labour costs climbing, distribution channels fragmenting, and operating environments becoming more complex, Duetto argues that RevPAR alone is no longer a reliable indicator of a property's financial health. The company has championed what it calls "performance engineering" — a discipline that treats revenue, performance, and profit as a single, interconnected system.
From RevPAR to profit: the four shifts
Duetto's approach rests on four pillars: dataset, mindset, skillset, and toolset. Hotels are encouraged to look beyond room revenue to total revenue, align their teams around profitability rather than occupancy, adopt new operating practices, and deploy technology that links pricing decisions directly to financial outcomes.
At the heart of this is the Revenue & Profit Operating System (RP-OS), a cloud-based platform that brings together pricing, forecasting, group optimisation, loyalty, and profit benchmarking in one place. The system is designed to help hotels identify what's underperforming, scale what works, and make decisions that improve the bottom line — not just the top line.
"Revenue only tells half the story," said a Duetto spokesperson. "We're helping hotels see the whole picture and engineer stronger profit."
The results, according to aggregated data from customers using Duetto alongside HotStats, show a 6.8% increase in Gross Operating Profit Per Available Room (GOPPAR) in 2025. That kind of measurable impact is resonating across the industry.
Duetto's client base now spans more than 20,000 properties in over 100 countries, from independent boutiques to major global groups. The company's recent acquisition of FLYR Hospitality, announced earlier this year, is expected to further strengthen its AI-driven revenue tools, a move that aligns with the broader industry trend toward new growth playbooks beyond traffic and scale.
The Travel Trade Excellence Awards – Thailand, organised by Travel Daily Media, honour the best in the travel industry across the country, including hotels, airlines, airports, cruise lines, tour operators, booking platforms, and travel technology. The awards spotlight players that consistently redefine industry standards and elevate customer experiences.
Duetto's win comes as the hospitality sector increasingly looks to technology to navigate rising costs and shifting demand patterns. The company's focus on profit over occupancy is part of a wider movement among hoteliers to adopt more sophisticated revenue strategies, a theme that was also evident at the recent TravelDaily 2026 conference, where new growth playbooks were a central topic.
For travel professionals, the takeaway is clear: the era of RevPAR-only thinking is ending. As Duetto demonstrates, the next competitive advantage lies in connecting revenue decisions to profitability — a shift that is already paying dividends for early adopters.
