The Emirates Group wrapped up its participation in the 2026 National Service Career Fair, held from 15 to 17 July at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. The three-day event, designed to connect National Service Programme cadets and graduates with employers across multiple sectors, saw the Group's stand attract 2,300 visitors.

Major General Khalifa Rashed Al Hameli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence, toured the Emirates Group stand during the fair, underscoring the strategic importance of talent development in the UAE's aviation sector.

Pilot Programme Leads Recruitment Drive

The National Cadet Pilot Programme emerged as the standout opportunity, drawing 1,300 applications from prospective candidates. Other career pathways showcased included the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence Programme, International Scholarship Programme, IT Scholarship Programme, National Scholarship Programme, Outstation Programme, and Graduate Programme.

Khaled Alobeidli, Manager of Human Resources Recruitment at Emirates Group, provided an overview of the available roles, emphasizing the Group's commitment to the UAE's Emiratisation agenda. "Our participation in this fair reflects our dedication to empowering Emiratis to build careers in the travel and aviation sector, which is vital for the UAE's economic growth," Alobeidli said.

The Emirates Group continues to engage with the national community through career fairs, school outreach initiatives, and forums, aiming to offer diverse career pathways and training opportunities for Emiratis. This aligns with broader industry trends, such as Saudia Group's recent on-time performance leadership, highlighting the region's focus on aviation excellence.

For travel professionals, the strong interest in Emirates' cadet pilot program signals sustained demand for skilled aviation talent in the Middle East. The Group's recruitment push also supports its expanding network, which includes routes like Dubai to London Heathrow and Dubai to Sydney, and its partnerships with GDS systems such as Amadeus and Sabre.

In the broader context of travel industry expansion, initiatives like Radisson Hotel Group's Southeast Asia Pacific growth and Accor and Sun Group's Vietnam hotel pipeline demonstrate the region's appetite for talent across hospitality and aviation.

The Emirates Group's career fair success also resonates with MICE industry trends, as large-scale recruitment events like this one often serve as models for corporate engagement. The Group's focus on Emiratisation is a key driver for the UAE's tourism and aviation sectors, which are central to the country's economic diversification strategy.
