Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has opened reservations for its newest U.S. property, Fairmont New Orleans, which will welcome its first guests on November 2. The opening ends a two-decade absence for the luxury brand in the Crescent City, positioning it in the Central Business District, just steps from the French Quarter and Caesars Superdome.
The hotel occupies 17 floors of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 1970 design by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, redeveloped by Kailas Companies. It offers 250 guest rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, and multiple dining venues developed in partnership with celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. The property also includes a 10,000-square-foot spa and more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it a contender for both leisure and MICE business.
Design and cultural integration
Rockwell Group handled the interior design, drawing on the city's distinctive mix of built and natural environments. The result, according to the brand, reflects New Orleans' vibrant energy and its reputation for celebratory gatherings. Claudia Kozma Kaplan, Chief Brand Officer of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said: "New Orleans, a destination that is world-renowned for its vibrant energy, has an unparalleled passion for jubilant gatherings."
Eric Overstreet, General Manager of Fairmont New Orleans, added: "We look forward to welcoming guests to New Orleans' most meaningful new venue." The hotel is expected to become a hub for both business and leisure travelers, with its proximity to major attractions and the Superdome.
Bookings are available through Fairmont's website, and guests can earn points via Accor's loyalty program. Further details on dining and amenities are expected in the coming weeks.
This opening adds to a busy period for luxury hotel debuts, including the recent Ducasse restaurant launch at Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé and the upcoming Langham Bangkok Custom House. For travel advisors, the new Fairmont provides another upscale option in a city that continues to draw strong leisure and convention demand.
With its blend of historic architecture, modern amenities, and local culinary star power, Fairmont New Orleans is set to be a significant addition to the city's hospitality landscape. The property's meeting spaces and central location also make it a viable choice for corporate events and incentive travel, complementing the city's existing MICE infrastructure.
