Hyatt Centric Sapporo has opened reservations for stays beginning 1 December 2026, marking the brand's entry into Hokkaido's capital. The hotel will occupy the first floor and floors 17–26 of the Urban Net Sapporo Link Tower, a mixed-use development in the city's central business district.

The property will offer 216 guestrooms, including nine suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views over Sapporo. Standard rooms include digital key access and complimentary Wi-Fi, while the Centric Suite on the 19th floor features a private terrace. The top-floor Sapporo Suite overlooks the Historic Hokkaido Government Office Building, a landmark from the Meiji era.

F&B and local immersion

Dining will be anchored by Matsu Grill & Bar on the 17th floor, which combines wood-fired grilling with French techniques and highlights Hokkaido's seasonal produce. On the ground floor, Mr. Fish by Hyatt Centric Sapporo will serve fish and chips paired with local craft beers, a nod to the city's vibrant beer culture.

The hotel is positioning itself as a gateway to Sapporo's cultural and natural attractions. A team of Local Insiders will curate experiences ranging from seasonal food tours to visits to nearby ski resorts and onsen towns. The property will also collaborate with local artists and community members to integrate regional art and design into the guest experience.

Hyatt Centric Sapporo is part of Hyatt's broader expansion in Japan, which includes properties in Tokyo, Kyoto, and other key cities. The brand targets travellers who want a stylish, locally connected base, and this opening extends that proposition to Hokkaido, a destination increasingly popular with both leisure and business visitors.

For travel professionals, the hotel's December 2026 opening aligns with the winter tourism season, when Sapporo draws international visitors for its snow festival and ski access. The property's location in the Urban Net Sapporo Link Tower provides direct connectivity to the city's transport network, making it a practical choice for corporate travellers and MICE groups.

Hyatt Centric Sapporo will be the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Hokkaido, a market that has seen growing interest from international hotel groups. The development underscores the region's appeal as a year-round destination, from summer hiking and lavender fields to winter sports and the famous Sapporo Snow Festival.

Reservations are now open for stays from 1 December 2026, and the hotel is expected to be a key addition to Sapporo's upscale lodging scene. For agents and tour operators, the property offers a new option for clients seeking a contemporary, locally immersive stay in Hokkaido's capital.
