InterLnkd, a travel technology provider known for its AirMall platform, has introduced NEXORA, a white-label solution designed to help airlines and inflight connectivity partners convert passenger dwell time into incremental ancillary revenue. The platform was announced today and targets the significant captive audience during flights.
How NEXORA Works
NEXORA functions as an upsell layer within existing inflight portals, curating and ranking offers from InterLnkd’s merchant network alongside partner supplier relationships. The system tailors offers to individual passengers based on factors such as route, cabin class, loyalty tier, and dwell time. This approach aims to present the most relevant offers at the right moment, increasing the likelihood of conversion.
The platform supports both full inflight Wi-Fi and closed onboard networks, making it adaptable to various connectivity models. It includes pre-integrated supply categories spanning retail, experiences, and dining, allowing partners to earn revenue from conversions and sponsored offers.
“Almost none of the $135bn travellers spend on ground ancillaries is converted in the air today,” said Barry Klipp, CEO of InterLnkd. “NEXORA’s model continuously learns to optimise offer placements, ensuring the most effective offers are presented to passengers.”
This continuous learning mechanism is a key differentiator, as the platform uses real-time data to refine offer selection over time. For airlines, this means potentially higher ancillary revenue without significant operational changes, as NEXORA integrates seamlessly into existing inflight portals.
The launch comes as the travel industry increasingly focuses on ancillary revenue streams. Airlines such as Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and Delta have been expanding their inflight retail offerings, but InterLnkd’s solution aims to bring a more data-driven approach to the segment. The platform’s white-label nature allows carriers to maintain their brand identity while leveraging InterLnkd’s technology and merchant relationships.
InterLnkd’s move also aligns with broader trends in travel technology, where personalisation and data analytics are becoming central to revenue optimisation. Similar to how Amadeus launched an AI-powered travel advertising platform with Accenture, NEXORA uses passenger data to deliver targeted offers, but specifically within the inflight environment.
The platform’s ability to work with both full Wi-Fi and closed networks is particularly relevant for airlines that have not yet invested in high-bandwidth connectivity. This flexibility could make it attractive to a wide range of carriers, from low-cost operators to full-service airlines.
InterLnkd has been recognised for its innovation in travel tech, and NEXORA represents a further step in its efforts to enhance ancillary revenue streams. The company’s existing AirMall product already serves several airlines, and NEXORA extends that capability to a broader set of ancillary categories.
For travel professionals, the platform offers a potential new revenue channel that capitalises on the captive audience during flights. As the industry continues to recover and evolve, tools that can convert passenger time into revenue are likely to gain traction.
