ITC Hotels Limited has inked a management agreement for Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui, a 117-key property designed to deepen the group’s footprint in Uttarakhand and bolster the Welcomhotel brand across North India. The hotel is situated in the Selaqui area, a rapidly developing commercial and tourism corridor on the outskirts of Dehradun.

Property Details and Amenities

The Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui will offer 117 guest rooms and suites, complemented by a range of dining options including an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop speciality restaurant, and a lounge bar. For events, the property provides over 20,000 square feet of indoor banqueting space and approximately 25,000 square feet of landscaped outdoor lawns, positioning it as a prime venue for weddings, conferences, and social gatherings.

Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels Limited, commented: “Welcomhotel celebrates the spirit of every destination through authentic experiences inspired by local culture expressed with the warmth and excellence that define ITC Hotels.” Rashmi Garg, Proprietor of Orions Hospitality, added: “Our vision is to create a hotel that serves the evolving needs of travellers and the growing demand for destination events.”

Strategic Expansion in Uttarakhand

The signing is part of ITC Hotels’ broader strategy to expand the Welcomhotel brand into high-potential destinations, driven by rising economic activity and increasing tourism flows. Upon opening, Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui will complement the recently opened Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels Madhuban Dehradun, further enhancing ITC Hotels’ presence in the region. The property is well-positioned to serve Dehradun’s fast-growing commercial and tourism sectors, including leisure travellers heading to hill stations like Mussoorie and Rishikesh, as well as corporate clients from the city’s expanding business parks.

This expansion aligns with broader trends in Indian hospitality, where domestic travel and MICE demand continue to drive new hotel development. ITC Hotels, part of the diversified ITC Limited conglomerate, operates a portfolio of brands including ITC Hotels, Welcomhotel, Fortune Hotels, and Storii. The Welcomhotel brand, positioned in the upscale segment, focuses on delivering locally inspired experiences with consistent service standards.

For travel professionals, the new property adds inventory in a market that has seen increased interest from both leisure and business travellers. Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, has emerged as a key gateway for tourism in the Garhwal Himalayas, while also attracting investment in education, IT, and manufacturing. The Selaqui area, in particular, has become a hub for commercial activity, with several corporate offices and industrial parks.

As ITC Hotels continues to expand its managed portfolio, the Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui represents a strategic addition for meeting the needs of corporate groups, wedding planners, and leisure travellers seeking a blend of comfort and local character. The property is expected to open within the next two to three years, subject to construction timelines.
