Mandarin Beach Villa Koh Samui has been honoured as the New Villa of the Year - Thailand at the Travel Daily Media Travel Trade Excellence Awards 2026 - Thailand. The award recognises the property's fresh approach to family-focused luxury on the island, moving beyond the traditional villa rental model to deliver a fully operated, personalised estate experience.

Reimagined in 2025, the beachfront estate sits on Lipa Noi beach and spans 2,200 square metres of gardens. It comprises six equal en-suite suites accommodating up to 16 guests, an 18-metre infinity pool, and direct beach access. The villa is designed with multi-generational groups in mind, featuring a children's bunk room, nursery facilities, and a glass beachfront safety fence for families with young children.

A service-led model for the modern family

What sets Mandarin Beach Villa apart is its operational model. Unlike typical villa rentals, the estate includes a full household team and a private chef, along with VIP transfers and a range of activities and equipment at no additional rental cost. Guests have access to two jet skis, a 24-foot boat, a catamaran, kayaks, paddleboards, mountain bikes, and beach sports—all aimed at making the stay easier for families.

“We wanted to create a villa experience that truly serves the whole family, from grandparents to toddlers,” said a spokesperson for the property. “Our team is dedicated to anticipating needs before they are expressed, and our guest-memory system is central to that.”

The proprietary guest-memory system, developed exclusively for Mandarin Beach Villa, creates a personalised brief before each stay. It captures details about returning guests—children's names, routines, dietary needs, and preferences—allowing the team to prepare in advance and deliver a consistent experience across repeat visits. In one recent arrival, the system logged more than 150 verified guest preferences within 48 hours.

This attention to detail has translated into strong guest feedback. The villa holds a 5.0 rating from 36 reviews on a leading vacation rental platform and ranks among the top 1% of homes worldwide. It also maintains perfect ratings on other platforms, with no guest complaints since its relaunch.

The award comes as part of the Travel Daily Media Travel Trade Excellence Awards - Thailand, which celebrate outstanding performance across the Thai travel industry, including hotels, airlines, airports, cruise lines, tour operators, travel agencies, booking platforms, and travel technology. Other winners this year include Blue Tree Phuket for its community initiative and Duetto for revenue management technology.

For travel professionals, Mandarin Beach Villa's win underscores a growing trend in the luxury villa segment: the shift from simple accommodation to fully serviced, experience-driven estates. As the market for high-end family travel expands, properties that combine design, service, and technology are setting new benchmarks. The villa's success on Koh Samui—a destination already popular with upscale travellers—signals that personalised, all-inclusive villa experiences are becoming a key differentiator.

With its combination of family-focused design, attentive service, and innovative technology, Mandarin Beach Villa Koh Samui is positioning itself as a leader in private villa stays in Thailand. The award highlights how a well-executed, guest-centric approach can elevate a property to the top of its category.
