METT Singapore, the boutique hotel set within the historic Fort Canning Park, is rolling out a curated series of dining experiences and staycation packages to mark Singapore’s National Day. The programme, running from 1 to 15 August, blends the property’s colonial heritage with contemporary culinary creativity, targeting both local leisure guests and international travellers seeking an immersive cultural stay.

Heritage Collaboration with Chef Damian D’Silva

On 2 August, METT Singapore will host “The Governor’s Table – A Taste of Home,” a collaborative dinner between Executive Chef Daniele Sperindio and renowned Singapore heritage chef Damian D’Silva. The event reimagines the classic Sunday roast with live stations featuring rendang and popiah, alongside handcrafted Singapore heritage kueh. This partnership underscores a growing trend among luxury hotels to anchor F&B programming in local culinary traditions, a strategy that resonates with both resident diners and inbound tourists.

“We wanted to create an experience that feels both nostalgic and fresh,” said Sperindio in a statement. “Working with Damian allows us to honour the flavours that define Singapore’s multicultural identity while presenting them in a way that surprises and delights.”

Champagne Brunch with a Local Twist

The hotel’s Riviera Champagne Brunch returns on 1 and 8 August at L’Amo Bistro del Mare. The Mediterranean-focused spread will be supplemented with Singapore-inspired desserts such as Milo Tiramisu and Ondeh Ondeh Cake, served alongside free-flow Champagne and live entertainment. The brunch is positioned as a premium weekend offering for hotel guests and external diners alike, tapping into the strong demand for experiential dining in Singapore’s competitive F&B market.

Heritage Reimagined at Canning Bar & Lounge

From 1 to 15 August, Canning Bar & Lounge will present “Heritage Reimagined,” a set menu that reinterprets beloved local dishes with premium ingredients. Highlights include Our Laksa and Chicken & Rice Donabe, paired with a contemporary Canning Sling cocktail. The menu is designed to appeal to both heritage food enthusiasts and younger diners seeking elevated comfort food.

This initiative aligns with broader industry moves by hotel groups such as Dusit International and Dorsett Hospitality to differentiate their F&B outlets through hyper-local storytelling. For travel agents and tour operators, METT’s National Day programme offers a ready-made package for clients seeking a culturally rich staycation in the heart of Singapore.

Staycation Packages Blend History and Modern Luxury

Beyond dining, METT Singapore is promoting staycation packages that combine spacious rooms, wellness facilities, and access to the hotel’s lush grounds. The property’s location within Fort Canning Park — a site of historical significance — adds a layer of heritage appeal that is increasingly valued by luxury travellers. The hotel’s dual-destination partnership with Song Saa Private Island further extends its reach to the high-end leisure segment.

For hospitality professionals, METT’s approach illustrates how boutique hotels can leverage national celebrations to drive room nights and F&B revenue. The programme also serves as a case study in cross-departmental collaboration — from culinary teams to marketing and reservations — to create a cohesive guest experience.

As Singapore’s travel industry continues its post-pandemic recovery, properties like METT are betting on experiential, culture-led offerings to attract both local and international visitors. The National Day series is a timely reminder that heritage, when thoughtfully curated, can be a powerful differentiator in a crowded market.
