Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach has officially reopened The Square, its all-day dining restaurant, following a comprehensive redesign and the introduction of a dedicated Andhra culinary section. The relaunch, inaugurated by V. Prabhu Kishore, Chairman of Varun Group, underscores the property's commitment to blending local heritage with contemporary hospitality.

Located along the Bay of Bengal, The Square now offers a refreshed ambiance that balances modern aesthetics with a welcoming atmosphere, catering to family gatherings, business lunches, and celebratory occasions. The new Andhra section showcases regional recipes and locally sourced ingredients, providing guests with an authentic taste of home-style cooking. This addition is designed to resonate with local diners while offering international visitors a gateway to the region's rich food culture.

“The Square has been part of Visakhapatnam’s dining landscape for many years,” said Kishore. “With this relaunch, we aim to build on that trust whilst creating a fresh and contemporary dining experience.”

Lakshmi Sridhar, General Manager of Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach, highlighted the restaurant's deep connection with the city. “Our focus was to retain its warmth whilst making the experience more relevant for today’s diners,” Sridhar noted.

Strategic positioning for Visakhapatnam's hospitality scene

The reopening comes at a time when Visakhapatnam is emerging as a key coastal destination in India’s hospitality landscape. By enhancing its F&B offerings, Novotel aims to attract both transient business travellers and leisure guests, as well as the local community. The Square's expanded menu, which now includes a range of Andhra delicacies alongside international favourites, positions the restaurant as a culinary landmark in the city.

Industry observers note that such localised F&B strategies are becoming increasingly important for hotel groups seeking to differentiate themselves in competitive markets. The move aligns with broader trends in the hospitality sector, where net profit pressures are prompting hotels to innovate beyond traditional offerings.

The Square is now open for breakfast, lunch, Sunday brunch, and dinner, promising a memorable dining experience by the Bay of Bengal. The relaunch is expected to enhance Visakhapatnam's reputation as a coastal hub for hospitality and leisure, complementing the city's growing appeal as a MICE and leisure destination.

Novotel, part of Accor, continues to expand its footprint in India, with properties in major metros and emerging cities. The Visakhapatnam property, known for its beachfront location, remains a popular choice for both corporate and leisure travellers. The revamped The Square is likely to become a key draw for guests seeking authentic regional cuisine in a refined setting.

As the hospitality industry increasingly focuses on sustainable and community-oriented practices, Novotel's emphasis on local culinary heritage reflects a broader shift towards destination-driven dining experiences. This approach not only supports local producers but also enriches the guest experience, a factor that travel professionals should note when recommending properties in India's eastern coast.

For travel agents and tour operators, the reopening of The Square adds a compelling reason to include Visakhapatnam in itineraries, particularly for clients interested in culinary tourism. The hotel's strategic location, combined with its enhanced dining options, positions it as a strong contender in the region's competitive hospitality market.
