Ontario International Airport (ONT) has rolled out a significant dining refresh, introducing new menu items and celebratory cocktails designed to elevate the passenger experience. The updates, managed by SSP America, include a revamped menu at Tap & Pour in Terminal 2, featuring dishes such as the Brekki Burger and Steak Frites. Meanwhile, the airport's two Aspire Lounges are offering a trio of anniversary-themed cocktails to mark the Decade of Local Control, available through November.
Collaborative menu development
The menu overhaul was a collaborative effort between SSP's local team, culinary specialists, and airport staff. Tony Corona, SSP America's director of operations at ONT, emphasized the importance of listening to frontline employees: "We wanted to give our guests something new to get excited about, and that started with listening to the people who serve them every day."
Penn Jones, Senior Manager of Tenant Relations at ONT, highlighted the role of dining in traveler satisfaction. "Our partners at SSP America and Aspire are bringing fresh ideas to the table, giving travellers more choices and another reason to enjoy their time at ONT," he said.
New menu highlights
The updated menus feature a variety of options, including a Hot Honey Bacon Egg & Cheese Breakfast Bagel, Grilled Chicken & Avocado Sandwich, and Blackened Chicken Tacos. Vegetarian choices like the Black Bean Elote Burger and Avocado Toast with Egg are also available, catering to a range of dietary preferences.
In the Aspire Lounges, travellers can enjoy cocktails such as ONTo Bluer Skies and Decade in Bloom, complementing the airport's yearlong anniversary celebration. These additions aim to make dining and relaxation memorable parts of the journey.
ONT's focus on enhancing the passenger experience aligns with broader industry trends. For instance, Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines have refreshed their international Suites dining, and Virgin Voyages has expanded dining with chef collaborations. Such initiatives underscore the importance of culinary offerings in differentiating travel experiences.
The airport's dining refresh is part of a wider effort to improve amenities and services. As ONT continues to grow, these updates are expected to enhance its appeal to both leisure and business travellers.
