Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has officially opened its first dual-lounge offering in Thailand at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). The new Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge are located airside on Concourse G, spanning a combined 790 square metres. The launch ceremony was attended by PPG leadership, representatives from Airports of Thailand (AOT), and key industry stakeholders.

The dual-lounge concept is part of PPG's strategy to cater to a wide range of travellers, from those seeking privacy and premium service to those wanting convenience and family-friendly amenities. The opening comes as Suvarnabhumi Airport undergoes a major infrastructure expansion, aiming to increase its annual capacity from 65 million to 80 million passengers by 2030.

Distinct experiences under one roof

Plaza Premium First offers an intimate setting with private lounge bays and an à la carte dining concept that highlights Thai specialities. In contrast, Plaza Premium Lounge focuses on comfort and practicality, featuring a live kitchen, high-speed Wi-Fi, and dedicated family facilities. Both lounges are designed to reflect a sense of place, incorporating works by contemporary Thai artists and local design elements.

“Bringing this concept to Bangkok allows us to offer travellers a distinct sense of place through authentic Thai flavours and art,” said Song Hoi-See, CEO of Plaza Premium Group. “We are excited to introduce our dual-lounge model in Thailand, which we believe will set a new benchmark for airport hospitality in the region.”

The lounges are accessible to all international passengers, regardless of airline or class of service. Travellers can book in advance or walk in without a reservation. Multi-use Lounge Passes start at $69, offering flexibility for frequent flyers and transit passengers.

PPG's entry into Thailand builds on its established presence in major international aviation hubs, including Hong Kong, Singapore, and London. The company has been expanding its footprint across Asia, with recent openings such as the Taiwan-themed lounges at Taoyuan Airport. This move aligns with the group's mission to enhance travel experiences globally, particularly in high-growth markets.

The timing of the launch is significant, as Bangkok continues to be a major gateway for both business and leisure travel in Southeast Asia. The city's tourism infrastructure is under pressure, as highlighted by recent flooding that strained travel infrastructure at the start of peak season. The new lounges are expected to provide a premium experience for the growing number of international passengers transiting through Suvarnabhumi.

Industry analysts view PPG's dual-lounge concept as a response to the increasing demand for personalised airport experiences. By offering two distinct products under one brand, PPG can cater to both premium and value-conscious travellers without compromising on quality. The move also strengthens PPG's competitive position against airline-operated lounges and other independent lounge providers.

For travel professionals, the opening represents an opportunity to enhance client offerings. Agents and tour operators can now recommend a consistent, high-quality lounge experience at one of Asia's busiest airports, with flexible access options that suit various traveller profiles. The lounges are also expected to appeal to corporate travel managers seeking reliable amenities for their teams.

PPG's expansion in Thailand is part of a broader trend of airport lounge operators investing in the region. As visa-free travel policies boost arrivals across Asia, airports are upgrading their facilities to accommodate higher passenger volumes. Suvarnabhumi's expansion, coupled with new premium offerings like PPG's lounges, positions Bangkok as a competitive hub in the region.

With the dual-lounge launch, Plaza Premium Group continues to innovate in the airport hospitality space, offering travellers more choice and a stronger sense of local culture. The company's commitment to blending comfort, cuisine, and art is likely to resonate with both international visitors and Thai travellers alike.
