Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its French footprint with the launch of Hotel & Spa des Beaux-Arts, a member of the Radisson Individuals collection, in the historic center of Bourges. The 52-room boutique property occupies a heritage building on Rue Moyenne, steps from the Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Bourges, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The hotel targets travelers seeking an authentic cultural experience in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Bourges, known for its medieval architecture and annual Printemps de Bourges music festival, has seen growing interest from European leisure and short-break markets.

Design and Amenities

The property combines original architectural features with contemporary comforts. Guests have access to a wellness area with a heated whirlpool, sauna, and beauty treatments. Dining options include Bar des Beaux & Arts, a tapas bar, and an adjacent brasserie. The hotel also offers meeting space for small corporate events, appealing to the MICE segment.

Sustainability measures include LED lighting, water-saving fixtures, and reduced single-use plastics, aligning with broader industry trends toward responsible hospitality.

Joep Peeters, Chief Operating Officer Franchise EMEA at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “Hotel & Spa des Beaux-Arts perfectly captures the spirit of Radisson Individuals by preserving the character and heritage of an iconic property whilst delivering the quality, service, and international standards guests expect from Radisson Hotel Group.”

General Manager Jean-Arnaud Omam Biyik emphasized the hotel's unique character and commitment to high standards. The opening marks the Radisson Individuals brand's debut in Bourges, adding to the group's portfolio of over 100 properties in France.

For travel agents and tour operators, the property offers a new option in a secondary French city with strong cultural appeal. The hotel's location near the cathedral and historic sites makes it suitable for FIT and small-group itineraries. Radisson Hotel Group continues to grow its presence in Europe through franchise and management agreements, as seen in recent openings across the region. The Bourges property joins a network of independent hotels under the Radisson Individuals umbrella, which allows owners to retain their property's identity while benefiting from the group's distribution, loyalty program, and operational support. This model has proven attractive to boutique hoteliers in heritage buildings across Europe.

Travel advisors can book the property through major GDS systems including Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport. The hotel is also available via Radisson Rewards, the group's loyalty program with over 20 million members worldwide.

For hoteliers considering conversion or new-build opportunities, the Radisson Individuals brand offers a flexible alternative to full-service flags. The group's recent expansion in France signals confidence in the country's tourism recovery, particularly in secondary cities that offer cultural depth without the congestion of Paris.

As the travel industry continues to evolve, properties like Hotel & Spa des Beaux-Arts demonstrate how heritage assets can be repositioned for modern travelers. The combination of local character and international standards is increasingly valued by discerning guests, from luxury seekers to corporate travelers on extended stays.
