Red Sea Global (RSG) has officially opened Rosewood AMAALA, a new luxury resort at Triple Bay on Saudi Arabia's northwestern Red Sea coast. The property marks a key milestone in the development of AMAALA, the Kingdom's flagship wellness destination, and underscores RSG's broader strategy to position the region as a global hub for high-end regenerative tourism.

Designed by Milan-based architecture firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the resort blends contemporary Arabian aesthetics with the natural landscape of the Red Sea and the Tabuk mountains. The design language emphasizes open spaces, natural materials, and seamless indoor-outdoor living, catering to a clientele that prioritizes privacy and wellbeing.

Resort features and wellness offer

Rosewood AMAALA spans 40 hectares and comprises 110 keys, including pavilions, suites, and villas, each with a private swimming pool. Dining options range from Mediterranean restaurants to modern grill concepts and poolside bars, offering guests a variety of culinary experiences without leaving the property.

The centerpiece of the wellness offering is the 2,100-square-metre Asaya spa, which provides a comprehensive menu of treatments, fitness facilities, and holistic programs. This aligns with AMAALA's positioning as a destination dedicated to health and rejuvenation, a segment that is rapidly growing in the luxury travel market.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, commented: "Rosewood AMAALA strengthens the destination's position as a world-class wellness destination by bringing together Rosewood's distinctive approach to luxury hospitality with personalised wellbeing experiences."

Branded residences and sustainability

In addition to the hotel, Rosewood Residences AMAALA offers 26 branded residences with interiors by Paris-based designer Tristan Auer. These residences are aimed at buyers seeking a permanent or semi-permanent base in the Red Sea's emerging luxury enclave, a trend that is gaining traction across the Gulf's premium destinations.

Sustainability is a core component of the project. The resort is fully powered by solar energy, and RSG has committed to a 30% net conservation gain by 2040, meaning the development will actively enhance biodiversity and environmental health in the area. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals of diversifying the economy and promoting sustainable tourism.

AMAALA's wider development

Rosewood AMAALA is the third resort to open at AMAALA Triple Bay, following earlier debuts that have helped establish the destination's reputation. Five more resorts are planned, along with additional branded residences, wellness facilities, a marina, retail outlets, and a marine life institute. These components are designed to create a self-contained luxury ecosystem that appeals to high-net-worth travelers and investors alike.

The opening comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is aggressively expanding its tourism infrastructure. The Red Sea Global portfolio, which also includes the Red Sea destination further south, is a central pillar of this strategy. For travel professionals, AMAALA represents a new frontier in luxury wellness travel, with significant potential for FIT and MICE business as the destination matures.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, part of the Rosewood Hotel Group, operates properties worldwide, and this addition strengthens its presence in the Middle East. The collaboration between RSG and Rosewood is expected to set a benchmark for future developments in the region.

As AMAALA continues to take shape, industry observers will be watching how the destination performs against its ambitious sustainability and wellness targets. For now, the opening of Rosewood AMAALA signals a confident step forward in Saudi Arabia's luxury tourism ambitions.
