Dubai-based developer Seven Tides has officially relaunched the former Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel as the NH Collection Dubai Ibn Battuta, following a comprehensive renovation. The 396-room property, now managed by Minor Hotels, strengthens Seven Tides' hospitality portfolio and adds to the NH Collection brand's growing footprint in the UAE.

Located adjacent to Ibn Battuta Mall, the hotel has undergone upgrades across guestrooms, suites, and public areas. New food and beverage concepts include Benihana, a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant; Taste, an all-day dining venue; and Nomad, a café. Existing outlets such as Skyline Pool Bar and McGettigan’s remain operational.

Investment in Dubai's evolving hospitality sector

Ghanim Bin Sulayem, Group CEO and Managing Director of Seven Tides, said: “NH Collection Dubai Ibn Battuta represents an important investment in one of our established hospitality assets and reflects our long-term approach to creating and enhancing properties that respond to the continued evolution of Dubai’s tourism and hospitality sector.”

The hotel also features a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, and a Kids Club. Its meetings and events facilities include an 871-square-metre meeting space, complemented by flexible breakout areas suitable for conferences and corporate events.

This launch follows the opening of NH Collection Dubai The Palm in 2023, further expanding the brand's presence in the emirate. Bin Sulayem added: “We remain confident in Dubai’s hospitality sector and will continue to explore opportunities to invest in and enhance our portfolio to align with the tourism ambitions and goals of the emirate.”

The property's proximity to key transport links, including the Dubai Metro and major road arteries, positions it well for both leisure and business travellers. As Dubai continues to attract record visitor numbers, hoteliers are investing in repositioning assets to meet evolving guest expectations.

Seven Tides' move reflects a broader trend among regional developers to partner with international brands to elevate their properties. The NH Collection brand, part of Minor Hotels, has been expanding across the Middle East, and this property adds to its portfolio of upscale hotels.

For travel professionals, the relaunch offers a new option for clients seeking a well-connected base in Dubai, with easy access to Ibn Battuta Mall and the city's attractions. The hotel's MICE facilities also make it a viable choice for corporate events and conferences.

As Dubai's hospitality landscape becomes increasingly competitive, properties like NH Collection Dubai Ibn Battuta demonstrate the importance of continuous investment and brand alignment. With the emirate's tourism targets in mind, such developments are likely to play a key role in accommodating future growth.
