The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has rolled out a new promotional campaign offering THB 500 off on domestic flights, in a bid to stimulate local travel and support the country's tourism recovery. The initiative, branded "Fly Across Thailand, Heal Your Heart with Every Trip," is being run in partnership with seven Thai carriers, including Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, and Bangkok Airways.

Under the scheme, travellers can save up to THB 1,000 on a return journey by booking outbound and inbound flights separately, each qualifying for the THB 500 discount. The promotion is available for bookings made between 15 October and 15 December 2026, with travel valid from 15 October 2026 through 15 January 2027.

To access the discount, passengers must enter the promotional code FLYTODOM on the participating airlines' websites or mobile apps. The offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be used multiple times, subject to each carrier's terms and conditions.

Encouraging domestic travel amid rising costs

TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the campaign is designed to ease the financial burden on travellers, particularly as global fuel prices continue to push up airfares. "We want to encourage Thais to explore their own country more frequently, and this discount helps make that more affordable," he said in a statement.

The authority projects the campaign will generate at least THB 156 million in tourism revenue, with benefits expected to flow to local communities and businesses across Thailand. The initiative also aligns with the government's broader strategy to promote secondary destinations and distribute tourism income beyond the main hubs of Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.

Domestic travel has been a key growth area for Thailand's tourism sector, with recent data from Traveloka's Q3 2026 Index showing strong demand for destinations like Khao Yai and Koh Chang. The TAT's discount scheme is likely to further boost bookings on routes to these emerging hotspots.

Participating airlines include Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, VietJet Air Thailand, and Thai Smile. Each carrier will apply the discount to its own fare classes and availability, so travellers are advised to check individual airline websites for full details.

The campaign is part of a wider push by TAT to support the travel trade, with recent industry recognition for hotels and technology providers in Thailand. For instance, the St. Regis Bangkok was named Business Hotel of the Year, while the Radisson Hotel Group's Creator Hub won a marketing award, highlighting the sector's dynamism.

Travel agents and tour operators can leverage the promotion to create attractive domestic packages, particularly for the upcoming holiday season. The discount applies to both leisure and business travel, making it a useful tool for corporate travel managers as well.

With the booking window open until mid-December, industry stakeholders are encouraged to inform their clients about the offer and help them secure the discounted fares before they are fully subscribed.
