Vestige Collection, the Spanish luxury hospitality group, is making its first move beyond Iberia with the announcement of Vestige Xaudum, a six-suite lodge set to open in Namibia's Khaudum National Park on 15 March 2027. The property marks the launch of the Vestige Namibia circuit, a planned collection of four lodges across the region, and reservations are already being accepted.
Positioned on a Kalahari sand dune, Vestige Xaudum will be the sole lodge within Khaudum National Park, a remote wilderness that sees fewer than 3,000 visitors annually. The park forms part of the Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), the world's largest terrestrial conservation zone, which spans five countries and supports significant populations of migratory elephants, endangered African wild dogs, and more than 300 bird species.
Design and amenities
The lodge's architecture, conceived by Vestige Estudio, uses local materials to create a bold, contemporary aesthetic that blends with the surrounding landscape. Each of the six suites is designed for privacy and comfort, with the two-bedroom suite featuring four decks and a private plunge pool. Guests will also have access to a spa, a fitness deck, and a 78-square-metre swimming pool.
Culinary programming at Vestige Xaudum emphasises Namibian produce, with dishes prepared over a traditional spit-braai, offering an authentic regional gastronomic experience. The lodge's safari offering is intentionally flexible, allowing guests to tailor game drives and activities to follow wildlife movements across the park. Bush breakfasts and stargazing sessions are among the experiences on offer.
Sébastien Styger, Vestige's Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, highlighted the park's appeal: “Khaudum offers extraordinary space and true wilderness, a rare combination in today's safari landscape. Our aim is to provide an intimate, immersive experience that respects both the environment and the local community.”
Conservation and community
Vestige Xaudum is committed to conservation and community engagement. The lodge will employ local staff and support wildlife monitoring initiatives. Operations are designed to be sustainable, with solar energy powering the property and managed water use to minimise environmental impact.
The opening of Vestige Xaudum is part of a broader trend of luxury hospitality groups expanding into remote African destinations. For travel professionals, this represents a new option for high-end safari itineraries, particularly for clients seeking exclusive access to less-visited parks. The lodge's location within KAZA also offers potential for cross-border multi-country itineraries, a growing segment in African travel.
Vestige Collection's expansion into Namibia follows its established portfolio in Spain, where the group operates properties in destinations such as Mallorca and Menorca. The move signals confidence in the African safari market, which has seen renewed demand from international travellers. For agents and tour operators, the Vestige Namibia circuit could provide a fresh angle for luxury African travel, complementing existing offerings in Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
As the travel industry continues to evolve, the emphasis on sustainability and community involvement is becoming a key differentiator. Vestige Xaudum's approach aligns with this trend, offering a model that combines high-end comfort with responsible tourism practices. The lodge's opening in 2027 gives the trade ample time to incorporate it into future itineraries and marketing campaigns.
For those looking to expand their luxury portfolio, Vestige Xaudum represents a significant addition to the African lodge market. Its unique position as the only lodge in Khaudum National Park, combined with the backing of an established collection, makes it a compelling option for discerning travellers. As the Vestige Namibia circuit takes shape, the group is poised to become a notable player in the region's high-end safari segment.
