Wendy Wu Tours has unveiled its largest-ever Cruise & Tour Collection, nearly doubling the portfolio with nine new itineraries spanning Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The expansion comes in response to a 32% surge in demand, with Japan bookings alone climbing 60% year-on-year, according to the tour operator.

New Partnerships and Premium Experiences

The enhanced collection features collaborations with premium cruise lines including Azamara, Holland America Line, and Star Clippers. New offerings range from luxury rail journeys to expedition cruising, reflecting a shift among travellers toward longer, immersive holidays that combine cultural exploration with the convenience of cruising. The average spend per passenger has risen 15%, as clients opt for extended itineraries and upgraded experiences.

Gary King, Head of Trade Sales at Wendy Wu Tours, noted the changing consumer mindset: “Customers aren’t looking for one bucket-list experience anymore – they’re looking for several, seamlessly connected within one extraordinary journey.” This trend aligns with broader industry moves toward multi-component holidays, such as MSC Cruises’ all-inclusive summer 2026 package that bundles transparent pricing with protected fly-cruise options.

Trade Incentive: Spin to Win Campaign

To drive agent engagement, Wendy Wu Tours has launched a Spin to Win campaign running from 1 to 30 June. Travel agents earn an instant prize for every Cruise & Tour booking made during the period, and each booking also enters them into a draw for a £10,000 travel credit valid on future holidays. The operator is also running a consumer promotion offering free return flights or partner flies free on selected itineraries.

The demand for these comprehensive journeys is particularly strong in the Far East, with more than 80% of passengers choosing destinations such as China, Japan, and South Korea. The expansion also taps into growing interest in expedition cruising, a segment that has seen increased traction among luxury travellers seeking remote destinations.

Industry Context

The move comes as the broader cruise and tour sector adapts to shifting traveller preferences. For example, Explora II’s off-peak Mediterranean itineraries for winter 2026–27 cater to similar demand for longer, culturally rich voyages. Meanwhile, luxury resort operators like those in the Maldives are diversifying their guest mix amid regional disruptions, as highlighted by Raffaele Solferino’s insights on GCC market shifts.

Wendy Wu Tours’ expansion underscores a broader industry trend: travellers are increasingly seeking curated, multi-destination experiences that combine land tours with cruise segments. The operator’s ability to nearly double its collection while maintaining a focus on Asia, Africa, and the Americas positions it to capture demand from both repeat and first-time cruisers.

With the Spin to Win campaign and consumer incentives running through June, the company expects to sustain momentum into the 2026 booking season. King added, “This collection is designed to make it easy for agents to sell complex, multi-component holidays with confidence.”
