The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) has confirmed the official theme for its 2027 Knowledge Monday programme: AIMEplify: People, Business, and Impact. Announced on 20th October, the theme will guide a day of discussions on where human connection meets technology, set against the backdrop of an industry increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

AIME 2027 is scheduled for 15–17 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with organisers expecting more than 25,000 pre-scheduled meetings between over 800 exhibitors and 1,600+ vetted buyers. The event will also debut two new industry-led formats and a newly formed Knowledge Monday Programme Committee, designed to give the sector a stronger voice in shaping the opening day.

What AIMEplify means in the age of AI

As AI transforms how events are planned and delivered, AIMEplify challenges the industry to identify what is already working and amplify it. That means the value of its people, the expertise behind its businesses, and the impact business events create when people come together.

Curated by AIME in collaboration with BEAMexperience founder El Kwang, Knowledge Monday will bring together industry leaders and subject experts to share collective wisdom and challenge conventional thinking. According to Kwang, the theme recognises the increasingly important role of human connection and judgement in a world shaped by rapid technological change.

“Business events have always been about what happens when people come together with purpose, including the relationships they build, the ideas they exchange and the opportunities they create,” Kwang said.

He added that as technology takes on more of the execution, the value of the MICE and events management profession lies in the expertise people bring: the experience, judgement and creativity that turn a meeting into a business outcome. “AIMEplify is about recognising that value and amplifying what is already working across our industry,” he concluded.

A two-arc experience

The full Knowledge Monday programme will follow two arcs across the day, each tied to the AIMEplify theme. The morning arc focuses on people, through sessions titled Inspire Me, Motivate Me, and Look After Me and My Team. The afternoon arc turns to business and impact, with Challenge Me and My Team and Show Me What’s Possible exploring how technology can extend what the industry does while human expertise remains central.

Shaping the topics, keynote speakers, and overall content is the new Knowledge Monday Programme Committee, whose members come from corporate, agency, and consulting businesses, reflecting the depth and breadth of the business events industry. Working with input from curated focus groups, the committee has built a programme around the topics the industry asked for.

The committee is led by industry professionals and includes representatives from major players such as Amex GBT M&E, BCD Meetings & Events, ICM, and MCI, among others. Their collective expertise will help ensure the content resonates with event planners, agencies, and suppliers alike.

Knowledge Monday 2027 will bring a fresh approach to event design, building on its established keynote programme with two new formats that give the industry a bigger role in the room. This move aligns with broader trends in the MICE sector, where rising costs in key hubs like Singapore are prompting organisers to explore alternative destinations in the region.

The focus on people and impact also echoes wider industry initiatives, such as the Steps for Impact 2027 walkathon and the tourism impact pioneers highlighted by Saudi Arabia and the World Economic Forum. AIME’s emphasis on measurable outcomes and human connection positions it as a key platform for driving positive change in the business events landscape.

With registrations for AIME 2027 expected to open soon, the industry will be watching to see how the AIMEplify theme translates into actionable insights for professionals across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
