Bookmark Resorts, the experience-led brand under Onora Hospitality, has confirmed the opening of its latest property, Bookmark Resorts Cheetagarh, in Jawai, Rajasthan, on 1 October 2026. The 20-key retreat is set within the region's dramatic granite hills and wilderness, positioning it as a restorative sanctuary for travellers seeking a deeper connection with Rajasthan's natural landscape.

The Cheetagarh property expands Bookmark's portfolio, which already includes destinations in Ranthambore, Manali, and Kanha. It also marks Onora Hospitality's second foray into Jawai, following the launch of jüSTa Luxe Highpoint Jawai last year. This dual-brand presence underscores the group's confidence in Jawai as a rising luxury wildlife destination.

Ashish Vohra, Founder and CEO of Onora Hospitality, said: “The Bookmark Resorts brand is about creating places where travellers can slow down, reconnect and experience a destination in a meaningful way. Jawai is an extraordinary setting for this philosophy, and Cheetagarh gives us the opportunity to create a truly distinctive experience around its landscape, wildlife and sense of place.”

Accommodation and amenities

The resort will offer a mix of chalets and rooms, with select units featuring private pools. A central swimming pool, spa, and wellness facilities cater to the growing demand for restorative travel. Dining will be anchored by Rotela Café and a waterside grill overlooking Rotela Lake, providing a culinary experience that complements the natural surroundings.

Guests can engage in jeep safaris, birding, and cultural excursions, with a focus on Jawai's renowned leopard population and the unique coexistence between wildlife and local communities. These activities align with the brand's philosophy of creating restorative sanctuaries that emphasise relaxation and rejuvenation through nature, food, and thoughtful hospitality.

The opening of Cheetagarh comes at a time when experiential and wildlife-led travel is gaining traction among luxury travellers. Jawai, often compared to Africa's safari destinations, offers a distinct alternative to traditional Indian wildlife parks, with its granite hills and leopards roaming freely. For travel professionals, this property adds a new option for clients seeking off-the-beaten-path luxury in Rajasthan.

Onora Hospitality's expansion in Jawai reflects a broader trend of hotel groups diversifying beyond conventional city and beach destinations. The group's focus on immersive, nature-centric experiences is evident in its existing properties, and Cheetagarh is expected to follow suit. The resort's design and programming are tailored to foster a sense of place, a key differentiator in the competitive luxury hospitality market.

For agents and tour operators, the new property offers a compelling reason to include Jawai in Rajasthan itineraries, complementing more established wildlife circuits like Ranthambore. The resort's emphasis on wellness and local culture also aligns with current traveller preferences for meaningful, sustainable travel. As the opening date approaches, Bookmark Resorts is likely to release more details on packages and partnerships.

In related hospitality news, JW Marriott Phu Quoc has unveiled a 15-day culinary festival for Golden Week, while Roomie has launched Malaysia's first hotel-specific payment gateway. These developments highlight the industry's ongoing innovation in guest experiences and operational technology.

Bookmark Resorts Cheetagarh is poised to become a landmark property in Jawai, offering a blend of luxury, wildlife, and wellness that is increasingly sought after by discerning travellers. With its strategic location and thoughtful design, the resort is set to contribute to the region's tourism growth and reinforce Onora Hospitality's reputation for distinctive, experience-led hospitality.
