Centara Hotels & Resorts is doubling down on its luxury Reserve brand with the announcement of Centara Reserve Krabi, scheduled to open in December 2026. The property will be the group’s second Reserve outpost, following the award-winning Centara Reserve Samui, and marks a strategic push to position Krabi as a premier luxury destination in Asia.

Resort Details and Design

Located at Pai Plong Bay on Krabi’s west coast, the resort will offer 120 keys spanning rooms, suites, and pool villas, with sizes ranging from 75 to 388 square metres. Facilities include lagoon pools, the Reserve Spa Cenvaree, and three food-and-beverage outlets, among them the Salt Society Beach Bar & Kitchen. The property is designed to deliver personalised service through dedicated Reserve Hosts, who will curate bespoke itineraries for each guest.

Michael Henssler, Chief Operating Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts, said: “Through Centara Reserve, we are redefining modern Thai luxury by bringing together experience-led travel, cultural authenticity, and a genuine sense of place.”

Commercial Momentum and Brand Expansion

The Krabi launch builds on the commercial success of Centara Reserve Samui, which opened in December 2021 and has since collected 28 international awards. In 2025, the Samui property recorded a 7.5% year-on-year increase in revenue, underscoring the viability of Centara’s luxury strategy. The group plans to extend the Reserve brand to other iconic destinations in Thailand and abroad, with potential locations including Bangkok, Japan, and Europe.

This expansion aligns with broader shifts in luxury hospitality toward quiet luxury and place-based experiences, a trend that travel professionals should monitor as guest expectations evolve. The Reserve brand’s focus on cultural authenticity and personalised service reflects a departure from overt opulence, a movement also seen in sectors like ultra-luxury cruising, where lines such as Explora Journeys and Ponant are emphasising intimate, destination-immersive itineraries.

Implications for Travel Professionals

For hoteliers and tour operators, Centara Reserve Krabi represents a new high-end option in a region traditionally known for budget and midscale tourism. The resort’s emphasis on bespoke experiences and local immersion may appeal to luxury travel advisors seeking differentiated product for discerning clients. The property’s location at Pai Plong Bay, a relatively secluded beach, also positions it as a potential anchor for luxury MICE retreats and incentive travel.

As Centara eyes further Reserve-brand properties in Bangkok, Japan, and Europe, the group is signalling confidence in the long-term demand for experience-led luxury. Travel agents and GDS systems such as Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport should expect the new inventory to be available for booking closer to the opening date, with early indications of competitive pricing against other five-star resorts in the Andaman coast.
