Dida, a global travel technology group, and SJM Resorts, S.A. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Macao's hospitality experiences to international travellers. The agreement was formalised at the Macao Economic, Trade and Tourism Investment Promotion Seminar in Singapore on 31 August 2026.
The partnership focuses on introducing the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau and its Dining Experience Package to international travel partners via Dida's global B2B distribution network. This move aims to boost Macao's appeal among overseas visitors and strengthen its position as a premier destination for leisure and business travel.
Strategic alignment for Macao tourism
Daryl Lee, Group CEO of Dida Holdings, highlighted the unique appeal of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, stating, "This partnership gives our B2B partners a distinctive, story-worthy reason to introduce their travellers to Macao." The resort, known for its opulent design and world-class amenities, is a flagship property for SJM Resorts.
Gerard Walker, Chief Hospitality Officer of SJM, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting that it would help attract more visitors to Macau and expand SJM's reach in key overseas markets. "We are delighted to work with Dida to showcase the best of Macao's hospitality to a global audience," Walker said.
The signing event, part of a broader seminar, was attended by government and industry representatives, including Che Weng Keong, President of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The seminar showcased Macao's tourism and business opportunities, featuring a tourism showcase and networking session.
This partnership marks a significant step in enhancing Macao's visibility on the global stage, potentially increasing international tourism to the region. It also aligns with Macao's broader strategy to diversify its tourism base and attract more visitors from beyond mainland China.
For travel professionals, the collaboration offers a new avenue to package Macao experiences for clients. Dida's B2B network connects thousands of travel agents and tour operators worldwide, making it an effective channel to promote the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau.
Macao has been actively courting international visitors, with initiatives such as the expanded fireworks contest and the Parisian Macao's 10th anniversary celebrations drawing attention. The Dida-SJM partnership adds another layer to these efforts, leveraging technology and distribution to reach new markets.
Travel agents and tour operators can expect to see the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau featured in Dida's platform, with special packages designed to appeal to international travellers. The dining experience package, in particular, is likely to attract food enthusiasts and luxury travellers.
As Macao continues to recover from the pandemic and expand its tourism offerings, partnerships like this one are crucial. They provide the infrastructure and marketing muscle needed to compete on a global scale.
