Disney Vacation Club has confirmed that its newest Walt Disney World property, Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, will open its doors on 1 July 2027. Positioned along Bay Lake, the resort will bring 967 guest rooms that pair Disney storytelling with a natural, tranquil aesthetic—a deliberate move to capture travellers seeking a quieter base within the Orlando theme-park ecosystem.
The room mix spans intimate duo studios inspired by Encanto through to spacious villas themed around Bambi, giving agents and tour operators a broad range of inventory to sell. The headline feature, however, is the collection of Lake Houses—freestanding retreats with A-frame architecture and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views across Bay Lake. Each Lake House sleeps up to eight guests and comes with a full kitchen plus washer and dryer, positioning them as a strong option for multi-generational families or extended-stay visitors.
Premium options and group accommodation
For larger parties, the three-bedroom grand villas draw on Fantasia for their design and can host up to 12 guests, with premium amenities and water views. At the top of the scale, the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite offers views of Magic Kingdom Park's fireworks—a selling point that travel advisors can leverage for high-end clients.
Beyond the rooms, the resort will feature The Wetlands, an outdoor recreation area with a lazy river and a zero-entry pool, plus two dining venues: Moonglade, a waterfront restaurant, and Bay Lake Provisions, an all-day marketplace. These facilities are designed to keep guests on-site, a strategy that aligns with Disney's broader push to maximise resort revenue and guest dwell time.
The announcement comes as Disney Vacation Club continues to expand its footprint, and the timing—more than two years out—gives the travel trade ample opportunity to build packages and educate clients. For hoteliers and destination marketers, the project underscores the enduring appeal of nature-infused resort concepts, a trend also visible in recent openings such as OBLU Nature Helengeli's new beach bar in the Maldives.
Disney has not yet released pricing or booking dates, but the company typically opens reservations for new DVC properties well in advance. Agents should monitor the DVC channel for early access, as initial inventory often sells out quickly.
The Lakeshore Lodge adds to a busy period for Orlando's hospitality sector, which continues to see strong demand from both domestic and international travellers. With its mix of standard rooms, villas, and premium suites, the property is expected to appeal to a wide demographic, from couples to large family reunions.
For travel professionals, the key takeaway is the extended lead time—nearly three years—which allows for strategic planning in both leisure and group segments. The resort's proximity to Magic Kingdom and its waterfront setting could make it a popular choice for clients seeking a resort-centric holiday, a segment that has grown since the pandemic.
Disney Vacation Club has not announced any further details on amenities or themed experiences, but the initial reveal suggests a focus on serenity and nature, a contrast to the high-energy theming of other Disney properties. This could position Lakeshore Lodge as a distinct product within the Walt Disney World portfolio, appealing to travellers who want the Disney magic without the constant stimulation.
As the opening date approaches, expect more details on dining menus, recreational programming, and possibly a dedicated transportation link to the parks. For now, the travel trade can start building anticipation among clients, particularly those who value spacious accommodations and water views.
