OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO has expanded its guest offerings with the launch of Thundi Beach Bar, a new oceanfront venue designed to complement the resort's immersive marine experiences. Located between two oceanfronts, the bar provides a relaxed setting for guests to unwind while taking in panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

The bar is strategically positioned near Helengeli's vibrant house reef, making it a convenient stop for guests returning from snorkelling or other waterside activities. Open daily from 10:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 19:00, Thundi Beach Bar ensures that guests can enjoy a refreshing pause without straying far from the beach.

Under the OBLU Island Plan™, the bar offers a curated selection of beverages, including beers, wines, and soft drinks, all included in the resort's all-inclusive concept. This move aligns with the brand's focus on delivering seamless, value-driven experiences for travellers seeking a hassle-free island getaway.

A natural extension of the guest experience

Alain Trefois, General Manager of OBLU NATURE Helengeli, highlighted the bar's role in enhancing the resort's ocean-centric ethos. "At Helengeli, so much of the guest experience revolves around the ocean. Whether diving, snorkelling, or simply enjoying the reef. With Thundi Beach Bar, we wanted to create a space that feels naturally connected to these moments, offering guests a convenient and relaxed spot to pause, refresh, and continue their island journey without interruption," he said.

The launch comes as part of a broader trend among Maldivian resorts to diversify their food and beverage offerings, particularly in outdoor and beachfront settings. For travel professionals, this development underscores the importance of experiential amenities in driving guest satisfaction and repeat bookings.

OBLU NATURE Helengeli, an award-winning resort, is accessible via a 50-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. The property features 153 villas, family-friendly amenities, and private pool options, catering to a wide range of travellers, from couples to families.

The resort operates under the OBLU Island Plan™, which includes world cuisine, a nature-inspired kids club, and various water sports and activities. This comprehensive approach ensures a wholesome getaway for all visitors, a key selling point for agents and tour operators targeting the Maldives market.

For those looking to expand their portfolio of beachfront properties, the recent opening of Meliá Aurea Nha Trang in Vietnam offers another example of how oceanfront venues are being leveraged to attract upscale travellers. Similarly, IHG's introduction of the Kimpton brand to Phang Nga highlights the growing demand for beachfront luxury in Southeast Asia.

As the travel industry continues to recover, resorts like OBLU NATURE Helengeli are investing in amenities that enhance the guest experience while also providing new revenue streams. The Thundi Beach Bar is a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and guest-centric design.

Travel advisors and operators can leverage this new offering to upsell the resort to clients seeking a blend of relaxation and adventure. The bar's proximity to the house reef also positions it as a key differentiator for snorkelling enthusiasts.
