Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview is tapping into the city-state's Formula 1 fever with a two-month program blending motorsport and craft beer. From mid-September through October, the riverside property will offer beer-tasting sessions, a racing simulator, and F1-themed décor, aiming to draw both race fans and leisure travelers during one of Singapore's biggest sporting spectacles.
Pole Position Pours: A tasting journey mapped to F1 teams
The centerpiece is the Pole Position Pours: Craft Beer Discovery with Four Points × Brewlander, a collaboration with local brewery Brewlander. Scheduled for 8 and 9 October at the hotel's The Best Brew bar, the sessions guide guests through five distinct craft beers, each paired with a Formula 1 team. Founder John Wei will lead the tasting, highlighting flavor profiles that mirror team identities—such as the LOVE Wild IPA for Red Bull Racing and the RESPECT Porter for Ferrari.
Wei emphasized the creative link between beer and racing: “Each brew is crafted to reflect the character of the team it represents, from bold and aggressive to refined and classic.” The sessions are complimentary with a minimum spend at the bar, making them an accessible add-on for hotel guests and external visitors alike.
Racing simulator and themed ambiance
From 12 September to 12 October, the hotel will feature a racing simulator, allowing guests to test their driving skills against virtual laps of the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The simulator is available with a $10 minimum spend at The Best Brew, offering a low-cost entertainment option for those not attending the race in person.
The property will also be dressed in Formula 1-themed décor, creating a vibrant backdrop for guests to soak up the race weekend atmosphere. This initiative aligns with broader trends in the hospitality sector, where event-led demand is reshaping hotel valuations across Southeast Asia, as properties leverage major events to drive occupancy and ancillary revenue.
Strategic play for race-weekend travel
Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview is positioning itself as a destination for both motorsport enthusiasts and craft beer aficionados. The hotel's location along the Singapore River offers easy access to the city's entertainment districts, making it a convenient base for race weekend visitors.
The initiative also taps into the growing trend of gig-tripping, where travelers prioritize live events when choosing destinations. By combining a high-profile sporting event with a local craft beer experience, the hotel aims to differentiate itself in a competitive market.
For travel professionals, this case illustrates how properties can create unique, low-cost activations around major events to boost direct bookings and on-site spending. The collaboration with a local brewery also adds an authentic, destination-specific element that appeals to modern travelers seeking immersive experiences.
As Singapore continues to host world-class events, hotels are increasingly looking to capitalize on the city's growing visitor economy, with initiatives like this one serving as a model for event-driven hospitality marketing.
