Four Seasons Yachts has placed an order for a third ultra-luxury vessel, scheduled for delivery in 2031, as the hospitality giant deepens its push into the cruise sector. The new ship will be constructed by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri at its Ancona yard, continuing a partnership that has already produced the recently delivered Four Seasons I and a second ship slated to debut in 2028.
Residential-Style Ocean Living Gains Traction
The upcoming yacht will adhere to the brand's all-suite blueprint, with just 95 suites designed to evoke a private floating residence. Expansive terraces, open-air living areas, and uninterrupted ocean views are central to the concept, which aims to blur the line between ship and home. A near one-to-one guest-to-staff ratio ensures highly personalized service, a hallmark of the Four Seasons experience.
At approximately 207 meters in length, the vessel balances scale with intimacy. It offers multiple dining venues, curated wellness spaces, and access to exclusive ports and hidden harbors that larger ships cannot reach. This approach reflects a broader shift in luxury travel toward privacy, flexibility, and bespoke experiences.
Fincantieri will build the yacht under its Navis Sapiens vision, integrating advanced technologies and artificial intelligence into the construction process. However, craftsmanship remains paramount, with every detail expected to meet the precision and elegance demanded at this price point. The estimated build cost is nearly US$450 million, underscoring the confidence in this emerging yacht-style segment.
Four Seasons Yachts is also curating destination experiences that go beyond the vessel itself. Upcoming Caribbean itineraries include private beach days in Anguilla and yacht club escapes in the Bahamas, emphasizing access-driven, intimate moments. This aligns with the brand's strategy of offering not just a journey but a lifestyle.
With three ships now confirmed, Four Seasons Yachts is positioning itself as a serious player in the ultra-luxury cruise market. The expansion comes as other luxury operators, such as TUI River Cruises orders two methanol-ready ships from Concordia Damen for 2028 delivery, also invest in new tonnage, signaling sustained demand for high-end waterborne travel.
For travel professionals, the growth of Four Seasons Yachts represents an opportunity to offer clients a residential-style alternative to traditional cruising. The brand's legendary service, combined with yacht-scale design and immersive itineraries, is setting a new standard for ocean travel. As the fleet expands, agents and tour operators can expect more options for ultra-luxury clients seeking privacy and exclusivity at sea.
Meanwhile, the broader luxury travel sector continues to evolve, with properties like The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary reopening as an immersive luxury retreat in the Western Ghats and Four Seasons Bora Bora adding private plunge pools to its overwater suites. These developments, alongside the yacht expansion, highlight a growing appetite for personalized, high-end experiences across both land and sea.
