Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands, reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $858 million, an 11% increase over the same period last year. The performance contributed to a first-half total of $1.8 billion, underscoring sustained demand across all regions.
Loyalty Program Powers Performance
The GHA DISCOVERY loyalty program was a key growth engine. Room nights booked by loyalty members rose 21% year-on-year, reflecting higher occupancy and longer average stays. Cross-brand bookings generated $132 million, a 32% jump from Q2 2025. Redemptions of D$ digital rewards climbed 41%, as members increasingly used points to offset costs.
“Our Q2 2026 results demonstrate the continued strength of the GHA DISCOVERY platform and the value of our alliance model,” said Chris Hartley, CEO of GHA.
International travel remained a major driver, accounting for $476 million in room revenue, up 12% year-on-year. The United States and United Kingdom were the top feeder markets, with the US alone contributing $86 million. Italy, Spain, and Thailand were the most popular international destinations for GHA guests during the quarter.
The alliance added 31 new properties and four new member brands in the first half of 2026, pushing its total portfolio past 1,000 hotels. This expansion strengthens GHA’s global footprint and offers members a wider range of stay experiences. Recent additions include properties from brands such as The Leela, which was recently ranked #2 global hotel brand in Travel + Leisure’s 2026 awards.
Looking ahead, GHA remains confident in its ability to deliver strong results in the second half of the year, despite broader market uncertainties. The alliance’s diversified portfolio and loyalty-driven model provide a buffer against regional volatility.
Industry observers note that GHA’s performance mirrors broader trends in hospitality, where loyalty programs and direct bookings are increasingly central to revenue strategies. The alliance’s success also highlights the growing appeal of independent hotel brands among travelers seeking authentic, localized experiences.
For travel professionals, GHA’s results offer a clear signal: investment in loyalty infrastructure and cross-brand collaboration pays off. As hotel groups like Radisson Hotel Group expand aggressively in Asia and other regions, the battle for loyalty members intensifies.
GHA’s ability to drive cross-brand bookings and D$ redemptions suggests that its platform is becoming a sticky ecosystem for frequent travelers. With more than 1,000 properties across 40 brands, the alliance is well-positioned to compete with larger chains on loyalty value.
