Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore has teamed up with local wellness brand Luli to launch a novel afternoon tea concept that integrates artificial intelligence with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Starting July 2026, guests at The Lobby Lounge can undergo a complimentary AI-driven TCM assessment to receive personalized herbal tea recommendations, a first for Singapore’s hospitality sector.

The experience is powered by Luli’s Aiteaic platform, which uses a tongue scan to identify individual wellness profiles—such as Qi Deficiency or Yin Deficiency—in under 30 seconds. Based on the results, guests are served a herbal tea brewed using Aiteaic’s nanobubble high-pressure extraction technology, which preserves up to 97% of the herbs’ active compounds while ensuring a smooth flavor profile. This method enhances the therapeutic potential of the tea, moving beyond traditional steeping techniques.

The personalized tea is paired with a wellness-inspired afternoon tea menu featuring items like Ginseng Infused Chocolate and Chrysanthemum Chantilly. Guests can also opt for personalized wellness mocktails or low-alcohol cocktails, further tailored to their AI assessment results. The offering reflects a broader trend in the hospitality industry toward integrating wellness into traditional dining experiences.

Industry Implications

Andrew Tan, General Manager of Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, stated, “This collaboration with Luli allows us to introduce a new dimension of personalised wellness that is both engaging and accessible.” The initiative underscores how hotels are leveraging technology to differentiate their F&B offerings, particularly in competitive markets like Singapore. For travel professionals, this signals a growing demand for personalized, health-conscious experiences that blend indulgence with wellbeing.

The afternoon tea is available daily from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, priced at $50 (S$68++) per set for two persons, with additional options for mocktails and cocktails. This pricing positions it as an accessible luxury, appealing to both hotel guests and local visitors seeking a unique wellness activity.

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, part of the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels group, has previously hosted culinary collaborations such as the Thailand Flavourscape Buffet with a three-chef collaboration. The new AI-powered tea experience aligns with the property’s strategy to innovate its F&B offerings while tapping into the wellness tourism segment, which continues to grow globally.

For travel agents and tour operators, this development offers a new experiential product to recommend to clients visiting Singapore. It also highlights the potential for AI-driven personalization in hospitality, a trend that could extend to other areas such as spa treatments, fitness programs, and dietary planning. As the Global Wellness Summit recently marked its 20th anniversary, the industry’s focus on wellness is clearly intensifying.

The partnership between Grand Copthorne Waterfront and Luli demonstrates how hotels can collaborate with local tech startups to create unique guest experiences. For travel-tech vendors, this case study illustrates the application of AI in a tangible, guest-facing context, moving beyond back-end operations to directly enhance the customer journey.
