InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay has launched a comprehensive anniversary campaign tied to the InterContinental brand's 80th anniversary, aiming to differentiate itself in Singapore's increasingly competitive luxury hotel market. The property, situated along the Singapore River in the Robertson Quay district, is rolling out the Unlocking a World Beyond the Quay initiative, which extends through December 2026.
The campaign is anchored in InterContinental's global Doors Unlocked framework, which segments experiences into three categories: Local Doors, Global Doors, and Personal Doors. For travel professionals, this represents a case study in how branded luxury properties are leveraging anniversary milestones to deepen guest engagement and drive direct bookings.
Local Doors: Curated Weekend Stays
The centerpiece is the Anniversary Weekend Stay Package, available for bookings through 24 December 2026 for stays until 27 December 2026. The package includes an arrival amenity of Silk and Spice chocolates created in partnership with Singaporean bean-to-bar chocolatier Fossa Chocolate, which sources cacao and infuses it with Asian culinary heritage flavors. The concierge team, led by Chef Concierge Deborah de Costa, has produced a guidebook highlighting eight off-the-beaten-path locations across Singapore. Guests also receive a complimentary off-menu cocktail at CODA, the hotel's avant-garde cocktail bar on the second floor.
Additional amenities include complimentary use of Tokyo bicycles for exploring Robertson Quay, Clarke Quay, and the Singapore River area, as well as access to the 24-hour fitness studio and outdoor pool. The package automatically enters guests into the Anniversary Lucky Draw for a chance to win a two-night luxury stay at one of 10 InterContinental hotels worldwide, including daily breakfast and a local cultural activity. Ten winners will be drawn across two dates: four on 31 July 2026 and six on 28 December 2026.
Cultural Programming and Partnerships
InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is positioning itself as a living cultural venue through a series of workshops and experiences in July, October, and December, developed with Singapore programming studio Fourthspace. The first event, on 18 July, is a wine appreciation workshop titled Hidden Pairings: A Hawker & Wine Discovery, hosted by The Amphora Project, pairing artisanal central European wines with local hawker dishes.
The hotel has also become the exclusive hospitality partner for the Singapore River edition of MONOPOLY: HIDDEN Singapore, a self-guided city adventure that turns the riverside into a playable Monopoly board. The trail runs from Boat Quay to Clarke Quay, takes 90 to 120 minutes, and is accessible via WhatsApp without requiring a separate app. The concierge team can arrange tickets for guests.
Personal Doors: Local Art Integration
To celebrate Robertson Quay's heritage, the hotel commissioned local lifestyle brand Binary Style to create a bespoke print titled The Quay Tapestry. The design, inspired by the neighborhood's history and contemporary energy, is being integrated into in-room touchpoints, amenities, and limited-edition merchandise.
The campaign arrives as Singapore's luxury hotel sector sees intensified competition, with properties like Pan Pacific Singapore also investing in MICE leadership and experiential offerings. For travel advisors and corporate buyers, the InterContinental's anniversary package offers a structured way to upsell weekend stays with tangible local experiences, while the global lucky draw provides an additional booking incentive.
