MGallery Hotel Collection has expanded its Aegean footprint with the opening of Kove Hotel & Spa Mykonos – MGallery Collection, a 35-key boutique property that brings the brand’s narrative-driven hospitality to the Cyclades. The hotel, part of the Daktylides family’s multi-decade legacy on the island, is now bookable via Accor’s ALL – Accor Live Limitless platform, with introductory rates from approximately EUR 272 per night.
Strategic Expansion into the Aegean
The opening deepens MGallery’s presence in Greece, complementing existing addresses in Athens and Crete. For CEO Maud Bailly (Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery & Emblems), Kove represents a “significant milestone” in the brand’s Greek strategy, aligning with MGallery’s focus on authentic, story-led hospitality. General Manager Marios Daktylides described the property as “a more personal way of experiencing Mykonos – quieter, more intuitive and closely connected to the island itself,” now amplified through MGallery’s global distribution and loyalty network.
Location and Design: Between Two Coastlines
Kove occupies a rare dual-coastline position between Ornos Bay and Korfos. Ornos offers calm, sheltered waters ideal for relaxed swimming and the hotel’s private beach, while Korfos faces open horizons known for wind and dynamic energy. The property is a short drive from Mykonos Town yet maintains a quieter rhythm centered on privacy and light. The 35 rooms and suites follow a clean Cycladic aesthetic, with larger suites featuring private Jacuzzis or plunge pools on generous terraces. The layout balances shared social spaces with quiet corners, targeting a broad international clientele including couples, honeymooners, and families with older children.
Dining and Wellbeing
Signature restaurant eNa follows a seasonal, local-first philosophy, emphasizing daily fresh catch and regional produce. A rooftop terrace overlooking both Ornos and Korfos serves as a gathering point, particularly at sunset. The Cave Spa, a stone-carved cocoon-like space, offers treatments drawing on natural elements and traditional techniques, complemented by outdoor yoga and meditation areas.
Signature M Moment: First Light of Delos
Each MGallery property offers a curated “M Moment” meant to capture the spirit of place. At Kove, that experience is “First Light of Delos.” Guests embark on a private dawn sailing to the mythic birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, guided by a private historian. They explore the ruins in near solitude, reaching the Terrace of the Lions as the sun illuminates the ancient stones. A Cycladic breakfast by the sea—fresh bread, island honey, seasonal fruits, and local delicacies—completes the experience.
For travel professionals, Kove adds a low-key alternative to Mykonos’s high-energy beach club scene, leveraging MGallery’s brand equity and Accor’s ALL loyalty platform. The property is positioned to attract luxury travelers seeking authenticity and intimacy, a segment that has shown resilience even as broader tourism patterns shift. As seen in other high-end destinations, properties that offer unique, localized experiences—like the Maldives luxury resorts diversifying their guest mix—are gaining an edge in a competitive market.
