Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) Canada is bringing an immersive slice of Korean culture and travel to Toronto this September. The K-Travel Fest: Hello Korea will take over Sankofa Square on 12 and 13 September 2026, offering travel professionals and the public a two-day showcase of the country's tourism appeal.

The free event is designed to go beyond a typical destination fair. Attendees can explore travel information for key Korean cities including Busan, Jeju, Gyeongju, and Jeonju, with one-on-one consultations available from specialised agencies. For agents and tour operators, this represents a direct opportunity to build product knowledge and forge contacts with Korean tourism suppliers.

Programming highlights

Celebrity chef Song Hoon, known for his role in the Netflix series Culinary Class Wars 2, will lead a culinary demonstration that showcases the creativity of Korean cuisine. The main stage will feature K-Pop cover dances, a Random Play Dance session, traditional Taekwondo demonstrations, and the Nanta drum performance, a non-verbal show that has gained international acclaim.

Visitors can also recreate the popular Hangang River Ramyeon experience, cooking and tasting instant ramyeon just as locals do in Seoul. Cultural immersion activities include Hangeul calligraphy, vegan tattoos, and K-Beauty masterclasses, offering a hands-on introduction to Korean lifestyle trends.

For those planning a trip to Korea, eight participating travel agencies will offer exclusive deals and discounts. Attendees who can show proof of a round-trip ticket to Korea will receive a special bonus gift, subject to availability.

Youna Oh, Director of KTO Canada, said: "K-Travel Fest is designed to be a fully interactive experience. We want visitors to taste the regional flavours at our K-Pocha, feel the energy of our performers, and get inspired to make Korea their next travel destination."

The event runs from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both days and is open to the public. More details are available on the official K-Travel Fest website.

Korea's tourism push comes as carriers expand connectivity. Korean Air's planned Seoul-Melbourne nonstop and the daily Delhi-Seoul service are part of a broader effort to boost inbound travel. Toronto Pearson, a key gateway for Canadian travellers, saw passenger traffic rise 3% in Q2 2026, underscoring the demand for international routes.

For travel professionals, K-Travel Fest offers a chance to deepen their Korea product knowledge and connect with local suppliers. The event's mix of cultural programming and trade-focused elements makes it a useful stop for agents looking to sell Korea more effectively.
