Le Méridien Saigon has completed a major upgrade of its ballroom, positioning the property as a leading venue for high-tech events in Ho Chi Minh City. The renovation responds to rising demand from corporate planners and wedding organisers for spaces that integrate advanced audiovisual and lighting systems without the need for external suppliers.

Overlooking the Saigon River and Ba Son Bridge, the refurbished ballroom is designed to host product launches, galas, exhibitions, and large-scale conferences. The hotel says the new setup eliminates logistical hurdles by providing all necessary technical equipment on-site, allowing event planners to focus on content and guest experience.

Technical highlights

The centrepiece is a 12-metre LED screen composed of ten movable panels, enabling flexible configurations and high-resolution visuals. The room also features an immersive 360-degree audio system with built-in ceiling speakers and subwoofers, plus an adaptive lighting rig with 28 moving beam lights and 28 PAR LED fixtures. These elements can be programmed to shift the atmosphere from a formal conference to a dynamic gala or an intimate wedding reception.

“By eliminating the behind-the-scenes complexities, we are empowering event planners to create truly immersive, unforgettable moments right here on the Saigon River,” said Lars Kerfin, General Manager at Le Méridien Saigon.

The upgrade aligns with broader trends in the MICE sector, where venues are increasingly investing in integrated technology to attract high-value events. Similar moves are visible across the region, such as Singapore's push to boost MICE incentives as conference revenue hits record levels. For hotels like Le Méridien Saigon, the ballroom renovation is a strategic investment to capture a larger share of the corporate and social events market in Vietnam’s commercial hub.

The hotel, located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, is about 7 km from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, making it accessible for international delegates. It offers 344 guestrooms, a fitness centre, an outdoor infinity pool, and a spa, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

Le Méridien Saigon’s move reflects a broader industry focus on enhancing event infrastructure. As destinations compete for MICE business, properties are upgrading their facilities to meet the expectations of tech-savvy planners. The hotel’s investment in a state-of-the-art ballroom is a clear signal of its commitment to the meetings and events segment.

For event planners, the new ballroom reduces the need to coordinate multiple vendors, streamlining the planning process. The integrated systems also allow for greater creative flexibility, with the LED wall and lighting capable of being tailored to specific brand aesthetics or wedding themes.

Le Méridien Saigon joins a growing list of properties investing in advanced event spaces. The trend is particularly notable in Asia, where MICE demand is rebounding strongly. According to industry data, the region is seeing a surge in corporate events, incentive travel, and large-scale conferences, prompting hotels to upgrade their venues.

The ballroom upgrade is part of Le Méridien Saigon’s broader strategy to position itself as a premier destination for both business and leisure travellers. With its riverside location and modern amenities, the hotel aims to attract high-profile events that require a blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal.

As the MICE sector continues to evolve, venues that can offer seamless technology integration will have a competitive edge. Le Méridien Saigon’s new ballroom is a case in point, demonstrating how hotels can adapt to the changing needs of event planners.
