LOT Polish Airlines has expanded its long-haul network with new connections from Delhi to two major California destinations: Los Angeles and San Francisco. The routes, operated via the carrier's Warsaw Chopin Airport hub, are designed to serve the growing demand from Indian travelers—particularly business and tech professionals—traveling to the U.S. West Coast.

Flights depart Delhi at 08:00 local time, arriving in San Francisco at 20:40 and Los Angeles at 20:05 local time, enabling same-day travel between India and California. The stopover in Warsaw allows passengers to use the LOT Mazurek Business Lounge for rest and shopping before continuing their journey.

Schedule and Aircraft

The airline deploys Boeing 787 Dreamliners on both routes, offering Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins. San Francisco flights operate every Wednesday and Saturday, while Los Angeles flights run on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. This schedule provides weekly connectivity for corporate travelers and leisure passengers alike.

LOT already serves several North American destinations, including Newark, New York JFK, Miami, Chicago O'Hare, and Toronto. The addition of Delhi–California links strengthens its position as a key carrier between Central and Eastern Europe and the U.S. West Coast.

Amit Ray, Director for India and other markets at LOT Polish Airlines, noted the rising number of Indian frequent flyers choosing the airline. “We see strong demand from Indian travelers heading to California, which is a hub for global businesses and technology giants,” Ray said. “Our reliable service and customer experience are key factors in attracting this segment.”

As a Star Alliance member, LOT Polish Airlines benefits from interline and codeshare agreements that extend its reach beyond its own network. The airline, founded in 1929, continues to modernize its fleet and expand long-haul offerings. Earlier this year, LOT reported a record net profit of $82 million and placed an order for 40 Airbus A220s, signaling confidence in its growth trajectory. The Delhi–California routes also align with broader trends in Indian outbound travel. Indian carriers and foreign airlines alike have been adding capacity to the U.S. market, particularly to tech-centric destinations. For context, Philippine Airlines Expands North American Network with More Nonstop Flights to Vancouver, Toronto, New York highlights similar moves by other carriers.

For travel agents and corporate travel managers, the new LOT services offer an alternative to nonstop flights from Delhi to the U.S. West Coast, which are currently limited. The Warsaw stopover also provides an opportunity to bundle lounge access or add a short European layover for clients. The airline's membership in Star Alliance means agents can book these segments as part of a broader itinerary using GDS systems such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport.

LOT's expansion into the India–California market reflects a strategic push to capture high-yield traffic from one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets. With the Dreamliner's fuel efficiency and passenger comfort, the carrier is positioning itself as a viable option for both business and leisure travelers seeking connectivity between South Asia and the U.S. West Coast.
