Healthcare meetings have evolved far beyond the traditional trade show format. Today, compliance, regulation, and procurement pressure define the sector, demanding a more focused approach. M&I has responded with M&I Healthcare, a decision-led meeting environment where conversations are structured from day one. The goal is to compress sourcing timelines from months into a few high-impact days through pre-scheduled meetings, education, and peer exchange.

Across the M&I portfolio, this model has proven effective: funnelling meaningful business interactions into a condensed timeframe to deliver clear return-on-investment. In healthcare, buyers don't need generic inspiration; they need confidence and answers that withstand scrutiny. They also need suppliers who understand the requirements before discussions begin.

To ensure alignment, all exhibitors undergo sector-specific training. M&I has partnered with 3Sixty Consulting in Europe and the US, along with other industry associates, to ensure suppliers can engage meaningfully from the first conversation—not after a lengthy "getting up to speed" phase.

Europe Proved the Point; Now North America Follows

In Europe, M&I Healthcare has built real momentum driven by a clear need: faster, more reliable access to suppliers that meet healthcare compliance requirements. When M&I began planning for 2027, they looked across the Atlantic and found the same challenges in the US. Discussions with US-based peers revealed a consistent message: healthcare buyers face identical issues, but lack a structured platform that solves them end-to-end.

The North America launch is not expansion for its own sake; it is bringing a proven model to a market that is actively asking for it. Paula Jurvanen, Managing Director at M&I, stated: "Healthcare and life sciences meetings demand a different approach. Planners need partners who already understand the sector's unique compliance, regulatory and operational requirements, not generic conversations. That's exactly why we created M&I Healthcare. By combining qualified buyers, compliant suppliers, specialist education and meaningful matchmaking, we've built a forum where every meeting has purpose and every connection has value. The success of M&I Healthcare in Europe has shown there's a clear appetite for a dedicated marketplace, making our expansion into North America the natural next step. We're excited to bring this proven model to another thriving healthcare and life sciences community."

Destinations That Add Value

A healthcare event cannot simply look good; the location must complement and enhance the program. Dallas is a strong fit for healthcare and pharma events, especially as one of the United States' leading healthcare and life science hubs. Its central location, large healthcare ecosystem, and robust event infrastructure help meetings run smoothly and attract the right industry audience. Craig Davis, President and CEO of Visit Dallas, commented: "We are thrilled to welcome the M&I Healthcare team to Dallas and look forward to showcasing everything our great city has to offer. Dallas is a world-class destination for the healthcare and life sciences industry, offering state-of-the-art meeting facilities and outstanding connectivity with direct flights from across the country, which makes it the perfect location for meaningful connections and industry conversations."

M&I Healthcare will also return to Europe in 2027, partnering with Milano and Partners to host the event in Milan, home to a €74.5 billion life sciences economy. The Milan Marriott Hotel, which has just undergone a full-scale renovation, will serve as the host property. For experienced planners, updated facilities are not a nice-to-have; they form part of the process to understand what is new, ready, and improved. Fresh supply creates stronger demand, helping bring the right buyers to the event. Fiorenza Lipparini, GM of Milano and Partners, said: "We are proud and genuinely delighted to welcome M&I Healthcare to Milan in 2027. This is not simply a prestigious event coming to our city. It is a recognition that Milan has earned its place among Europe's foremost destinations for scientific and medical congresses. A scientific congress thrives when the city around it amplifies its purpose. In Milan, delegates will step outside the meeting room and into one of Europe's most dynamic life sciences clusters."

Building Credibility Through Partnerships

The M&I brand is built on credibility, visible across all M&I products. In healthcare, credibility is everything, which is why partnerships matter so much—they shape the quality of conversations and the structure of the program. M&I is excited to work with a range of industry partners for the North American edition, with announcements to be made in the future. These are not last-minute add-ons but collaborations that have been building for a while, bringing deep industry weight to the events.

In Europe and the US, M&I continues its partnership with specialist consultancy 3Sixty Consulting as global content partner, helping guide the programme with industry insight so education and discussions stay grounded in what buyers and suppliers actually need. M&I’s intent remains the same: to bring the right expertise into the ecosystem so the event delivers value long after the doors close. Education remains a core component of M&I Healthcare.

For travel professionals, this development signals a broader shift in MICE: specialisation is becoming the new standard. As healthcare buyers demand more targeted, compliant, and efficient meeting formats, destinations and venues that can support such requirements—like Dallas and Milan—will gain a competitive edge. The model also echoes trends seen in other luxury and niche segments, such as ILTM Asia Pacific 2026, where curated matchmaking drives value. Similarly, hotel groups like Radisson Hotel Group are elevating healthcare meetings to a strategic discipline, reinforcing that this is not a passing trend but a structural change in the industry.
