Millennium Hotels and Resorts has rolled out a targeted loyalty initiative designed to incentivize extended stays booked directly through its channels. The campaign, branded "Double Your Stay. Double Your Rewards," offers MyMillennium members up to 30,000 bonus MyPoints when they book two or more consecutive nights at participating hotels via the MHR website.

Under the program, members earn 15,000 bonus MyPoints for a two-night stay and 30,000 for stays of four nights or longer. These points can be redeemed for complimentary nights, room upgrades, and dining discounts across the group's portfolio. Carolyn Wishnowski, Vice President of Global Branding, Marketing and Loyalty at Millennium Hotels and Resorts, noted that 30,000 MyPoints is equivalent to $150 (USD) in rewards value, which members can apply toward future stays, upgrades, dining, and other exclusive benefits.

The campaign is structured around two booking windows: the first runs from 13 to 18 August 2026 for stays completed by 31 March 2027; the second runs from 23 November to 3 December 2026 for stays through 30 June 2027. Bonus MyPoints are valid for three months from the transaction date, with a cap of two qualifying stays per member per month. Only one member per room reservation qualifies for bonus points, and all stays must be completed within the applicable period.

Strategic focus on direct bookings and loyalty

This move aligns with broader industry trends where hotel groups are increasingly rewarding direct reservations to reduce reliance on third-party online travel agencies. By tying bonus points to longer stays, Millennium aims to boost average length of stay and deepen guest engagement. The program also complements recent shifts in traveler behavior, as seen in surveys such as Agoda's research on Gen Z loyalty preferences, which highlight a growing demand for experience-led rewards and sustainable travel options.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts operates more than 145 properties worldwide, including key gateway cities such as New York, London, and Singapore. The MyMillennium loyalty program features three membership tiers, offering perks for both leisure and business travelers. The group's latest campaign is particularly relevant for travel agents and corporate travel managers seeking added value for clients on longer trips, whether for MICE events or extended leisure stays.

Industry observers note that such loyalty enhancements can also support destination marketing efforts. For instance, campaigns like TAT and UOB Thailand's domestic travel initiative similarly use cashback and rewards to stimulate longer stays. Millennium's approach, however, focuses on direct channel bookings, which can improve margin and customer data collection.

The timing of the campaign also coincides with growing interest in multi-city itineraries driven by major events, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is expected to encourage fans to extend stays across US host cities. Millennium's bonus points structure could appeal to travelers planning longer, multi-destination trips.

For travel professionals, the campaign presents an opportunity to recommend Millennium properties for clients seeking extended stays with added rewards. The direct-booking requirement also aligns with agent commission models that often favor direct reservations. As the hospitality industry continues to evolve loyalty programs to meet changing consumer expectations, Millennium's initiative underscores the value of longer, more personalized stays in building brand loyalty.
