Oaga Art Resort in the Maldives will reopen on 1 August 2026 following a brief closure for a comprehensive creative overhaul. Located in North Malé Atoll, 45 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the property has refreshed its guest spaces, updated villas, and introduced new dining concepts as part of a phased relaunch.

Redesigned villas and expanded dining

The resort's Haruge and Bodu Haruge villas now feature improved comfort with expanded lounge seating and dedicated vanity areas. The main restaurant, Kaa Kada, has been significantly transformed with larger indoor and outdoor dining areas, an elevated buffet experience, and a new bar. Culinary offerings now include a broader range of international cuisines alongside traditional Maldivian dishes.

Raa Baa, the resort's social hub, has been expanded with a larger performance stage and additional seating. The main pool has been refreshed with vibrant colours to enhance the poolside experience. A new Italian restaurant, La' Fuh Dan, joins the dining collection, blending Italian classics with local Maldivian ingredients.

Later this year, Oaga plans to introduce new overwater villas and a new villa category on the island's sunrise side. The resort continues to emphasize local culture and art as core elements of the guest experience.

This reopening follows a trend of resort refreshes in the region, such as Riu Palace Peninsula's relaunch in Cancun with an Elite Club and redesigned rooms. For travel professionals, Oaga's reboot signals a continued investment in experiential hospitality that blends creativity with comfort.

As the resort reopens, guests can expect the same vibrant creativity and hospitality that Oaga is known for, with more enhancements planned in the coming weeks. The property's focus on art and local culture positions it as a distinctive option in the competitive Maldivian luxury market.
