Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled plans for the Solara Sports Deck aboard its upcoming vessel, Seven Seas Prestige, scheduled to launch in December 2026. Designed in collaboration with SMC Architects, this marks the first time the ultra-luxury line has named a dedicated sports deck, signaling a strategic push to blend active recreation with its signature high-end amenities.
Solara Sports Deck: A New Standard for Onboard Recreation
Located on deck 14, the Solara Sports Deck will feature a competition-sized padel and pickleball court, an 18-hole putting green, and a digital gaming system equipped with Conductr Supercharged Shuffleboard units. For the first time on a Regent ship, a dedicated area will host sunrise and sunset yoga sessions, catering to wellness-focused travelers. Wesley D’Silva, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, stated, “Seven Seas Prestige will raise the bar for the ultra-luxury travel experience.”
The deck's design incorporates polished wood framing, architectural panelling, and lush planters to create a seamless transition from the ship's interior. Custom LED lighting will enhance the atmosphere for evening activities. A social pavilion at the ship's aft will house digital shuffleboard, mini-bowling, and other games, surrounded by plush seating for spectators.
Complementing the sports deck, the Solara Pool Deck on deck 12 will offer a two-tiered sunbed concept, a 48-foot by 29-foot pool, and whirlpool spas. Dining options include the Solara Pool Grill and Bar, with easy access to specialty restaurants such as Pacific Rim and Azure. The Solara Sports Deck will be accessible 24/7, featuring curated tournaments and wellness classes.
This development aligns with broader trends in the cruise industry, where lines like SeaDream Yacht Club are also expanding their Caribbean itineraries to meet demand for active luxury travel. Similarly, Regent's own 2027 themed voyages emphasize wellness, wine, and heritage, reinforcing the brand's commitment to curated experiences.
The Seven Seas Prestige will embark on its maiden voyage in December 2026, with the Solara Sports Deck fully operational from day one. Travel professionals should note this as a key differentiator for clients seeking ultra-luxury cruises that combine active leisure with refined relaxation.
