The Ritz-Carlton, Pune has expanded its F&B portfolio with the launch of YA:LA, a Levantine social dining destination located at Business Bay. The venue, which opened this month, is led by Lebanese Head Chef Mohamad Hammady and brings a contemporary interpretation of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine to the city's luxury hotel scene.

YA:LA, whose name derives from the Arabic expression meaning “let’s go,” is designed to evoke the communal spirit of Levantine dining. The menu spans Lebanese mezzes and Turkish grills, with signature dishes including Pistachio Muhammara and Black Garlic Moutabel. Traditional breads such as Za’atar and Olive Manakish are baked in-house, adding an authentic touch to the offering.

The restaurant's design draws on the region's aesthetic: an outdoor courtyard framed by olive trees and fountains sets the stage for open-fire cooking, while interior clay-toned surfaces, handcrafted ceramics, and geometric patterns create a warm, inviting atmosphere. A standout feature is the Travellers Table, which uses distinctive S-shaped seating to encourage guests to share food and conversation, reinforcing the venue's social dining concept.

Complementing the kitchen is a cocktail program inspired by Mediterranean flavors. The bar menu includes inventive combinations such as tomato in a Martini and harissa paired with tequila. A “Find Your Pour” menu guides guests through drink selections based on their preferred flavor profiles, adding an interactive element to the experience.

Ishwinder Gill, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Pune, said: “With YA:LA, we wanted to introduce a dining experience that brings a new energy to The Ritz-Carlton, Pune, one rooted in the generosity of Levantine hospitality, yet interpreted through a contemporary and highly social lens.”

The launch of YA:LA reflects a broader trend in India's luxury hospitality sector, where hotels are increasingly investing in distinctive culinary concepts to attract both local and international guests. Similar moves have been seen across the region, such as Taj Dubai's expanded cultural and culinary offerings, which underscore the growing importance of food as a differentiator in the competitive luxury market.

For travel professionals, YA:LA adds a new option for corporate events and social gatherings in Pune, a key business hub in western India. The venue's design, with its emphasis on shared tables and open-fire cooking, is well suited to group dining and MICE-related functions, offering a fresh alternative to traditional hotel restaurants.

The Ritz-Carlton, Pune, part of Marriott International's luxury portfolio, continues to position itself as a leader in experiential hospitality. The addition of YA:LA aligns with the brand's strategy of creating destination-worthy dining venues that appeal to both hotel guests and local residents.

As the travel industry rebounds, hoteliers are looking beyond standard F&B offerings to create memorable experiences that drive repeat visits and positive word-of-mouth. YA:LA's focus on authentic Levantine cuisine, combined with a modern social atmosphere, is a case in point. For agents and tour operators, such venues can serve as key selling points when curating luxury travel packages to Pune.

The restaurant is now open for dinner service, with plans to extend to lunch and weekend brunch in the coming months. Reservations are being accepted through the hotel's concierge and online booking platforms.
